that last statement about sums it up. melissia is on point.

i would say if you want to work with a sister of battle army think of crusades of old in real history. they take up a certain cause, or place, or enemy and dedicate themselves to it as long as it fits within their religious beliefs. So examples of Sisters of battle orders would be dedicating to a particular planet due to its religious importance, or dedicating themselves to purging all forms of new age religions in their sector, or going after some great priest or chaos lord who has been stirring unfaithfulness throughout the sector. these are all examples, and you can look at real life for help, def at the christian crusades, but also at the Islam jehads (misspelled?) or any other religious group that declared some sort of holy war in order to regain or defeat a group (Jerusalem, or the splinter groups of Islam who rally against america saying it is a place of infidels and nonbelievers, are both examples of holy war, respectfully.)

word, i think quite a bit can be done with SoB and they def have fluff potential thou it might not be seen in GW works.

you could also prob look into the Sisters of Silence which isnt SoB but could easily be a count as army and i think they seem to be very cool
