Does anyone here have something specific they use for rusty stuff? (specifically Orks?) I've been using the color Tin Bitz but I think it's a little too dark for rust. Any suggestions?

A mix of Scorched brown and Blazing Orange, will give you a pretty solid rust colour that could be drybrushed on.

Personally, i just use weathering powders (in particular, a few i got a local hobby shop actually made from various rusts.)

You can also use oil paints for streaky running rust or artist pastels in browns and oranges.

For my orks I use a two color method seen here. I've moved away from the splotchy method and now do a heavy wash of the two colors instead that works out.

For grime/rust streaks I use gryphonne sepia like in this tip, but it's all project dependent and I mainly use this on my Sons of Medusa who aren't rusted, just grimey and battle damaged .

I use a 1:1 mix of dwarf bronze and vermin brown and add a small amount of baking soda for texture. It works brilliant.

I made a mix somewhere between dark flesh and blazing orange and apply it very thinly over boltgun metal, then drybrush some metal back over it to blend it back in. It is super fast and doesn't look half bad

I'll have to try that baking soda idea that sounds good.
