Ok. i have to gw drill tool. All drills have either been lost or destroyed from my own stupidity. What are the size of them so i can get some new ones from my hardware store.

Not sure about the GW ones exactly... but typically for miniature stuff you want from .50mm to .85mm. I think you will likely only find these if your hardware store sells 'dremel' accessories, but yah never know.

I picked up a pack in my local walmart in the dremel accessories section for about 5-7 for 5+ bits.

the GW hand drill only comes with 1mm drills. find a hobbytown for others.

I use ebay for my drill bits - I normally use 0.8 and 0.9mm bits with my pin vice and buy them in packs of 10. There seem to be a lot more European engineering firms selling on ebay than US ones though, but they will probably ship to the States. Regardless...whatever GW sell in terms of modelling equipment can be picked up cheaper and better quality elsewhere.

Omg,those GW pin vices are crap. Mine broke after about three hours, seriously. That palm-shaped part at the top snapped right off!

I've since gotten a really nice pin vice from a local hobby shop. It's got four different "slots" for different sized bits. It's solid stainless-steel,and feels really good in your hand. I'd post a link, but it's a local store, and it's unbranded.

You can buy bits at any hardware store (maybe even places like walmart). They usually come in sizes of about .5 mm to like .9 mm (I think..). usually cost a couple bucks.

Quick note: though the GW pin vice only comes with 1mm drills if you take apart the vice you will find that if you turn the drill holder around it can fit much larger drills, up to 2 mm or 2.5 i think

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

Go find yourself a Hobby Lobby, my friend. Find one and revel in the astounding amount of modellin supplies. I have two pin-vices i picked up from there, one holds the bit used for pinning/drilling out barrels, and the other was large enough to take a 1/16" bit for magnets. I think I spent a whopping 10 bucks on it all.

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

What is with all this "mm" stuff.
We're in the States, guys! LOL
Speak in Amurricin measurements.

I use 1/16" bits for dripping & brass rod for pinning almost everything GW.

For my malifaux, which is DRASTICALLY smaller, I use 1/32" bits & brass rod.

LOL being so used to the 1/16" bits, I broke 3 of the smaller bits over the course of pinning about 50 Malifaux models.

I've never pinned any metal models together. I just use mine for drilling gun barrels and Gunshots. Maybe I'll pin my plauge marines.
