Lame, as every teaser should be. Now just have to sit tight for the full trailer.

I was really disappointed with how old and decrepit the made his face look, with the wispy grey eyebrows and the sun spots on his skin... geriatric space marines for the win... watch out for their walkers with a +1 to movement because of the fuzzy green tennis balls on the end.

That was awful on many levels.
They've gone from 'Grizzled and battle-hardened' to 'Decrepit and incontinent.'
"The greatest of them all"??? What is THAT based on?
Yeah we know. This thread is for people who didn't want to register just to watch a crappy teaser.

Hmm, purely for user ease we'll leave this one open as it has the youtube link in it. Good call otherwise though gents

Not much of a teaser. Let's hope that they don't dare to bring such bad graphics in the movie, even the DoW1 game looks better, not to speak of its trailers.

mind you, DoW2 does look better than this, but DoW1 most certainly didn't.

As for the Marine looking old, I personally think it was a nice touch. Since he look like he has seen countless battles and wars. Have been under thousands of sorcing suns in many untold decades of unfalting duty to the Imperium and the God Emperor Who sits on the Golden Throne.

Personally, I prefered the way they made Marines look in DoW2, especially the armor. Sure, the captain was a probably a bit too handsome, but he was supposed to be young after all so it kinda makes sense. But I was mostly thinking about the armor, not the Marine in it. This set of armor looks... ugly, actually. I kinda always liked how Marine armor looked... this doesn't really match

It's just a teaser, but if you can get past the base nerd-rage, I think it can be an interesting take. And remember, that's what movie adaptions are. When you paint your army that's your take on them. If your orks are the Pink Hotdog Boyz, there's nothing to say that's wrong. You could see a lot of reasons why he would look "old." If he's centuries or even thousands of years old, not sure how much rejuvination they can do. It makes sense to me after pulling a million pieces of shrapnel, napalm, psyker plasts, tyrannid goo, etc off your face, you start to need a little more than Oil of Olay. I could even see it being a sign of honor, because for an Astartes to actually be somewhat older, would mean they survived countless battles. Besides, people who had the voices of Terence Stamp and John Hurt that still looked like they were 22 years old would seem silly. Yes, their vocal chords age, but their skin doesn't...

In-game he definitely was. But in the opening cinematic he looked perfect. Like a healthy, 60 year old war vet.

Totally. He was way too old. Marneus Calgar is 4000 years old,and he could easily look 40. Even chaplain cassius doesn't look that old,and he's even older than that!
Totally wierd. Anyway,I liked it,to say the least. Slightly inaccurate, but whatever. I just want to see it already! I think games day will show it,if my scvriving is what is what it used to be.
I love the ultramarines, but they're not really the best anymore. After hive fleet behemoth attacked, they basically became one of the weaker chapters,IMO. They've got 13 land raiders. My friends and I have that many.

That, he did. And the armor in-game and in cinematics looked better than this... farce.

C'mon people don't cry because he wasn't super-handsome and chopped someone's face in half. It's a teaser trailer, the "Greatest of them all" jargon makes for good story telling.
Go make a stop-start film of your models if you don't like this. It's a 40k film..something we've ALL been waiting for for yonks. be happy stop nerd raging.
also stop with the "oh it's inaccurate as that chip in his chest-plate wouldn't be there cos he's a spess marien" it's annoying to read and makes me lose faith in humanity..
Harsh I know but that's the only thing I can think of saying right now..
Rant over.

The trailer was quite the disappointment for me.
In fact, the words "steaming pile" come to mind.

The oldest living SM not in a Dreadnought, anyway. As I remember it, Calgar is 400 or so years old.

I agree. This is something we've all been wanting for years, so needless criticism isn't going to help. Lets be supportive of the work and spread the word to try and make this movie a success. Once the franchise is born and gets off it's feet, THEN we can start picking apart every detail. What I find interesting though is that the same people that would gripe about the detail in the chest peice or the number of wrinkles on the subject rate bizarre conversions like the hello kitty marines very highly in the gallery here. Perhaps you want to see a hello kitty marine movie instead?
