This is me just messing around. But let's get real here, it'd be tons of fun to be fighting against a bunch of savages riding giant lizards with space guns. I was sort of prompted to do this because of Melissia's Codex: US Army. I thought that this would be funny.

Note that this is a VERY rough draft. Emphasis on the rough. This is how I normally start out writing rules for codices and whatnot, so it's sort of an insight to the process. The points values are fairly arbitrary. Note that Medieval Worlds aren't finished yet.

Note the adventurers. I am intending for these guys to be like Indiana Jones. In all, this is a fun project and I hope for some feedback on what to add/subtract!

I may also start working on Death Worlds. Just let me know what you want to see. It's always boring to have to deal with Space Marines and Imperial Guard. It might be fun to have your super hyper awesome (x2) Eldar get into a fight with some Savages on Xeno Cavalry with blow pipes! Just a thought, haha

Anyway, I will stop talking. Here you go! http://www.scribd.com/doc/32337428/Feral-and-Medieval-Worlds-for-Warhammer-40k-Rough-Draft

:edit: Please move to Proposed Rules. Sorry.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Scribd FTW!

I like the idea as a whole, but I think specific is better than general in codices. You've got a lot of ideas floating around here--maybe pick a specific type of world or even one descreet world and go from there.

There's just an acre of you fellas, isn't there?

Haha, I love scribd. It's super convenient and awesome.

Yeah, I definitely have a ton of ideas. Like I said, it's a super rough draft.

Honestly I could make a bunch of different armies just from the feral one. You have the Adventurers, which I want to keep in. Just for funsies. The dinos are cool. Not sure what I want to remove, haha. The Medieval world is gonna need some work though. It's supposed to represent pretty much everything from modern military to blackpowder military. That one's gonna need some finetuning.

Well, now for version 1.1!

http://www.scribd.com/doc/32337428/Feral-and-Medieval-Worlds-for-Warhammer-40k-Rough-Draft

Taking MekanobSamael's suggestion to be more specific, I want to make the Feral Worlds sort of like the oldschool TV show "Land of the Lost". No there's not going to be Sleestak but I really want to add in different colored crystals and whatnot.

There will still be adventurers, they just haven't been added yet. Note that I have added in Aliens. Why? Because I felt like it. It adds some very cool stories to the game. For example, the Imperial Army is patrolling a Feral World, attempting to bring it back to the Imperium, and BAM! The encounter several squads of an unknown alien race. Hell you could make a campaign out of it.

Personally I have having a really fun time with this codex. Most fan-made codices that aren't based off the big factions always include these super high-tech, advanced modern societies. Yeah, well your Imperial Marines are fighting against Savages with Clubs now instead of "hyper futuristic dudes who are more advanced than Eldar".

Yay tangents!

Anyway this is still a rough draft and it still looks a lot like one. But I'm polishing it up. Any suggestions?

:edit:
The Aliens are very fun to play as. One game for me they were WS2 BS5 S2 T3 W1 I5 A1 LD10. I had given them Bolters and Carapace Armor. They were kind of like Tau, haha.

By the way, people who are worried about randomness: It's before deployment, and in a way it's like "create-an-alien" in that you get to choose where the dice end up. Sure you're kinda boned if you roll two 1's for your d3's but they're only 5 points each so it's not that bad. Plus even if you do get 2 1's, I'm sure that you'll get some better numbers for your other stats. The chances of you getting all 2's and below is so low that I'm not worried about it. The same goes for the chances of having Aliens that are WS4+ BS4+ S4 T4 W1 I4+ A1 LD8+. It all averages out in the end. Let me know if you can think of something better, though.

Just like the olden days of RT and Warhammer FB.

The old Warhammer siege expansion had a section for Warhammer/40k crossovers. They were encouraged to diversify gaming though were not really that successful.

This 'feels' similar.

Thank you, I consider that a compliment as that's what I've been trying to go for.

I can understand why the crossover wasn't successful but I think that sort of medieval rules specifically made for Warhammer 40,000 (such as the ones I am making) work better because you ignore all of that awkward stuff like medieval armor getting saves against lasguns and bolters. That's just me though.

This has been a fun project so far, I hope to continue it and expand it. Maybe even get a game in with it! : )
