I did this a couple of weeks back for 40k, so I thought "What the hell, lets do it again for Fantasy". Simply put, Which of the current army book (or books0 do you think has the best cover artwork, and maybe include a few reasons as to why. Mine? Hmm...it's a hard choise, a lot harder than 40k was, but I think I'll have to say Brettonia simply because the knight on the front reminds me of why I got into Warhammer. Though maybe it's Warriors of Chao, because of the sheer bad-assery of the Exalted hero on the front.

Apologies they aren't all the same size image.

Bretonnia is probably my least liked army, but its art is absolutely gorgeous.

Second is the beastmen cover for me.

Voted Dark Elves with Tomb Kings a close second.

I don't even see how Tomb Kings can contend.

There's 4 skeletons (or 5?) on the cover, with some bird-looking shapes in the sand-covered sky.

Its almost blank.

That's particularly why I like it: It's not going "LOOK HERE LOOK HERE BIG BATTLE EVERY SPACE FILLED". While a lot of them do use up a fair amount, I'd rather too little than too much.

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

I like the empire, (being biased here) It shows the heart and soul of the race and has the visual intrest of drawing your eyes directly to a clear focal point. If these were all entered into my art 101 course's competition, I think that would win it, although I must admit, the brets' art does look snazzy as well. (the subject matter is in the process of trampling his own citizens, however =P)

6000 points IG, Leviathins 8th company, (store regiment) 60% painted
4500 points Empire 80-90% painted!
2500 Ogres 2% painted
WIP Biker Battle Company 95% painted
2500 Points Isstavan Drop site massacre Iron Hands (still waiting for dat codex)
I managed to play a 1750 point game with minimal proxieing on the first day DE came out. go me!

I voted for skaven. The huge swarm of little rats with the clanrats and slaves running over them. Topped off with the "iconic" leaders each clan!

Daemons-
Bretonnia-
Orcs n' Goblins-

Warriors Of Chaos and Wood Elfs are my favorits atm. But Skaven do look very good also

Am I the only one who likes the Orc and Goblin cover?

It's got Greenies, Boars, and... Greenies! What's not to like?

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

'nuff said. Without this image I would have walked right back out of the GW without buying anything all those years ago.

I'd also like to add I just saw this while looking for the above image:

"A heathen, conceivably. But not, I hope, an unenlightened one."

Eeeeh, wargaming weren't like this back in my day!

I personally prefer VC because, like many others, it greatly defines the race.
It bases them as an endless horde of undead soldiers under dark skies. Makes sense to me.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Brettonia just edges Dwarfs for me. They both ooze character- and I love the details in both.

Hmmm... I voted for my own army, but now that I look at all of them I'm not so sure. I'm suprised by how similar the poses are on the covers... seeing them side-by-side, there's not much variation!

I do love some old-school covers- that chaos dwarf one is sweet

I love Bretonnia, Tomb Kings, Dark Elves, Dwarves, and Vampire Counts. I dislike the Empire (Too cartoony), Lizardmen (Too boring), Daemons (Too many things happening with no real focus), and Beastmen (I just don't like the style).

I'd have to go for Dark Elves.....for the simple reason that it shows how menacing they are.....Skaven being a very close second however , a really swarmy cover for a really swarmy race
