A great quote from the Brikwars rules that I thought people might appreciate:

Also, any ruleset which features a photo of lego Jar Jar Binks with three spears stuck in him, in a pool of lego blood has got to be worth a read!

I have lost the will to play wargames or even paint them .I dont find them fun anymore .Theres too much focuse on money. I really dont like the current rule books for 40k or fantasy. Also the shopI go to now theres only one staff memeber and he really doesnt help me with gaming . I will paly against some person who knows the rules inside out and they forget to tell me things. Only like half way in they say ooo x troop can do such a thing you know "sigh" .Theres more to rant about but I will stop :/

After a post like this, I find it interesting that you continue to visit dakkadakka given your lack of interest in wargames.


On topic, I definitely think fun is the #1 ingredient to bring to the table, otherwise, why play? I try not to play games that aren't fun for everyone involved and I feel that as long as you're not taking gee-dub's games too seriously you can have loads.

Leequaex - firstly, I think you need to find some friends to game with. Secondly, it's not your opponent's job to tell you the rules - get reading!

It's been a slice.

I like my games with lots of fun. The problems start though when the players definitions of what is fun for them in a game don't gel. Back to the competitive vs non-competitive debates again for example.

I think I might give this Brikwars thing a go, I like the sound of it.

Ok, so Squigg whoopee cushions were possibly taking the concept a tad too far.
