Hi guys, I'm looking to a bright, shining, pearl white effect.

Any advice to how obtain something similar for a SM army (large smoothed surfaces)?

I considered a base/shading of snakebite leather featered 'til the pure white skull and after a retouch with one white/chainmail mix or something similar.
Finally a bright varnish or eventually the water effect.

Ideas or previous experiments to shown?

If your useing GW style paints I'd try a basecoat of White with a very light dry brushing of Mithril Silver.

Snother Idea would be to try mixing some white with a very small amount mithril silver to try and get the white to look metallic without looking grey.

Check out your local artist's store. Most carry inks, and will often have a pearlescent ink that works great. I can't remember the brand I bought off hand, but it has an eyedropper lid.

Try some irridiscent medium. It can be mixed with any acrylic paint to create a pearlescent effect.
