hey guys,
I have started building a Dark Eldar army for a friend of mine for his birthday, but sadly I know little to nothing about the army itself and have never play someone who has owned one. Could anyone give me some tips on what I should focus on with that army? point value would be a plus as I am still waiting on the codex to come in. The point value I am shooting for is 2k, if you need any additional information let me know.

Roughly: Warriors, Raiders and Ravagers.
Warriors and Raiders with lots of Dark Lances, and 3 Ravagers wich 3 Dark Lances each, or 3 Ravagers with 3 Disintegrators each.

Don't forget wyches!! The hardest thing to find right now are DE warriors with blasters and dark lances, but if you can find them they are great (in a raider of course).

3 ravagers with disintegrators gets my vote!
At least 6 raiders o' wyches/warriors/archon (Dark eldar kabal HQ) with retinue/Wych special character with retinue...

ok, I have bee scouting ebay for cheap models and such, are reapers and Wych lords still in use or are they older models that are out dated?

The Dark Eldar haven't had an update in 10 years or so, so there aren't any outdated models.
As far as armies go, Warriors, Wyches, Raiders, and Ravagers are your bread and butter.
