Ok so I've started a poll to decide Dakka's favourite manufacturer. If you've tried a few companies and can't decide between two, I've enable multivoting.
Once we've sorted Dakka's favoutite brand name, we'll delve a litte deeper and try to come up with a conclusive list of different brush models.

I.e, if (when) Windsor and Newton do well, we'll poll the different series of W&N brushes.
We'll all then pitch in and make a definitive Dakka brush review.

I'm hoping that with community effort, we can use this info to create a one-stop-shop for the miniature painter to come and learn about great brushes.

Thanks guys!

Peace.

What about Kolinsky brushes?

W&N Series 7 are by far my favorite, with Raphael a close second (if cheaper though number 1)... and the NEW 'black handle' GW brushes as a distant 3rd place.

I actually have some dickblick Kolinsky brushes that I bought with intent to use for metallics but they kind of suck.

BTW: for folks in the US - ASWExpress.com is a great place to buy good brushes cheap... right now use code: J6D3 for 20% off.

I'm not familiar with the brand Kolinsky - perhaps you're thinking of the material Kolinsky Sable? A lot of the brushes in the list are made with Kolinsky Sable, so I think it's well represented.
I keep hearing good things about Loeb Cornell, I'm surprised there's not more votes for that in here. Thanks to those who've voted so far though.

Odd thing with the Vallejo one I bought. Used them once and then the hairs started falling out like a chemo patient.

The cheap stuff at Micheals. Cheap enough to buy new ones in a month and still be cheaper then a single GW brush.
