Ok laddies! Me (Karim) and Besring (Dan) are great friends, but also close rivals having played each other loads of times. Dan normally is triumphant, however this could be because my 1000pts list is my 2000pts list minus random stuff
. It's my Black Legionnaires versus his Emperors children warband and their mercenary allies. So, here's my list

We also decided it would count towards the Local games Workshops campaign. We rolled to see which world would be played on, and rolled for the captial of the sector, Rothla (all units in terrain takes
D6 armour saves. On a 1/2 vehicles are stunned, on a 3-4 they lose a weapon and 5-6 is immobilised, as the ghoul remnants of the imperial citizenry attack the foreign invaders. The planet is one of 5, and is majority controlled by the forces of good I think

Sorcerer Adayuss snarled, his feral face contorting into a raging howl. Before he spat out a string of words.
'This our land, fool. Lord Abaddon himself has claimed this world, and we shall drive you hedonistic scum from it'.
The Daemon Prince's face changed into what might've been called a smile-his hooked beak curling at the corners.
'Come, little one. I have seen things you have no capacity to imagine. I pity you, with your limited life...though the dark prince may hold pleasures for you yet....?'.
Adayuss turned away as the clicking stopped, anger carved into his face.
'Move, my brothers! Attack positions! We shall take down these scum and their mercenary allies!++
We needed someone to be evil, so we rolled off. I won and chose to be evil.

Deployment
We rolled for Seize ground (3 objectives) and pitched battle. The objectives were placed in the temple. To the valley left of it was another objective. To it's right and slightly back was the third objective. I won the roll off for deployment, and deployed as can be seen-the two mechanised marines squads near an objective, the sorcerer behind their rhinos. To their left was a chaos defiler, to the behemoth's left the predator annihilator. Chilling out in a corner was Dreadnought Irae . Dan deployed with Squad Blast (5 man w/blastmaster) protecting his objective along with the havocs. Squad doom (6 man doomsiren and champion) and his Daemon prince deployed in cover (the trees). His obliterators were going to deep strike.
The objectives can be seen as small objects with marks of chaos scattered near them.

The Black Legion
Movement
Both the chaos rhinos moved 6" into a good vantage point, and sorcerer Adayuss used his powerful wings to flap behind them and out of sight, behind one of the rhinos. Dreadnought Irae, angered at his brothers negligence opened fire in a fire frenzy, stunning the predator. The Defiler moved to the foot of the chaos temple.
Shooting
Adayuss' defiler under orders from the sorcerer brought it's weapons to bear, and let loose a blaze which killed two of squad doom.
The Emperor's children
Movement
Squad blast sprinted over open ground towards a crater-no doubt previously a settlement of the hated imperium. Their master soared over head, and landed in front of them, also in cover. The plague mercenaries started making their way to the chaos temple objective in the centre
Shooting
The havocs open fire at the defiler and miss.
END OF TURN 1
Turn two
The Black Legion
Movement
With a leap, Adayuss leapt over a rhino a landed infront of the chaos temple objective in a puff of dust. Roaring his hatred, he rose both of his glowing hands and with a tug pulled the plague mercenaries towards him. They landed in a tangled heap, and as they struggled to get up they were blasted by the chaos defiler, killing all but the champion.
Shooting
The Dreadnought let out a single shot which liquefied two havocs. Squad Jendrius burst from the top hatch of their rhino, and a meltagun-passed from the bottom-burnt a wound off the Daemon Prince, which howled in ecstasy. The defiler blasted at the Plague marines, killing all but the champion.
Assault
The defiler leaps onto the Plague Champion, destroying him beneath his bulk. He consolidates forward.
The Emperors children
Movement
The obliterators deepstriked behind squad jendrius' rhino, whilst the Daemon prince landed infront of the sorcerer and lashed him so he was also in range of squad doom, who advanced.
Shooting
The sorcerer is wounded by massed fire, and the havocs fail to do anything. The obliterators destroy squad Jendrius' rhino, killing three.Squad blast open fire, but do little damage, their blastmaster scattering off target and only managing to kill two.
Assault
Squad doom and the daemon prince charge Sorcerer Adayuss. He slices at the daemon prince, but the daemons unearthly protection protects him, and in return he unleashed a pure bolt of psychic energy. Snarling in rage, Adayuss retreated to relative safety (he died..but not in my eyes!) Squad doom consolidated behind a rhino, and the prince consolidated a bit further along towards the undivided objective near the rhinos. The defiler lost it's battlecannon to the ghouls of Rothla at the chaos temple objective!
Turn Three
Black Legion
Movement
The defiler moved off the chaos temple objective and towards the Daemon prince.
Shooting
The Dreadnought took a shot at the havocs and kill one. The predator then killed an obliterator, even as the defilers flamer did didly squit to squad doom, the noise marines leaping out of the way. Squad Jendrius opens fire and kills the last obliterator.
Assault
The defiler charges the noise marines and kills one, the possesed behemoth crushing one of the dexterous warriors and flinging its broken body to one side.
The Emperors Children
Movement
The Daemon Prince leaps behind the defiler, stopping itself above the possessed machine with a twitch of its wings.
Shooting
Squad blast kills a marine of Squad Jendrius. The havocs stand and twiddle their thumbs.
Assault
The Defiler thrashes its arms around, and smashes one of Squad doom. The Daemon Prince charges in and rips off an arm.
Turn four
Black Legion
Movement
Squad Ekaptoth decides to actually do something, and moves out of their rhino, sight set on the Daemon Prince. The Rhino itself moves forward, blocking Ekaptoth from Squad Blasts
LOS.
Shooting
The dreadnought and predator combine their fire to destroy the havocs. Squad Jendrius runs behind the defiler/daemon prince/squad doom combat, shielding them from squad Blast.
Assault
Squad Ekaptoth pile into the Daemon Prince. It slices one of them to the side. In return, squad Ekaptoth plied him with cuts aplenty, and he is forced to leave the battlefield. The defiler finishes off Squad Doom, however it has been immobilised, and it
sags down on it's destroyed legs, awaiting Adayuss' return. Squad Ekaptoth consolidates away from the objective Squad Jendrius is holding, towards the chaos temple objective.
The Emperors Children
Movement
Only Squad doom has survived, and they decide to hold their position.
Shooting
One of the saner members of Squad Doom aims down his blastmaster and cranks up the frequency to it's highest. Snarling dark oaths to warp denizens and the Dark Prince, he unleashed an extremely well aimed shot. In a terrifying wail, the sonic blast engulfed 6 members of Squad Ekaptoth who were making their way to the central chaos objective, killing them all! The 3 surviving members turned around in shock, even as another was brought down by a series of blasts from the sonic blasters.
Turn Five
The Black Legion
[u]Movement
Squad Jendrius spaces it self out so as to not be susceptible to shots from Squad Blast, which Squad Ekaptoth just learnt the hard way. The two survivors of Squad Ekaptoth run over to the chaos temple objective. The Dreadnought goes crazy again, and targets the predator.
Shooting
Ekaptoth continue running, and Jendrius takes aim with their lascannon, but miss. The Dreadnought immobilizes the predator.

Shooting
Squad Doom open fire at Squad Jendrius, and kill one of the remaining pair.
Turn Six
The Black legion
Movement
The remaining rhino blocks the line of sight of Squad Doom. The dreadnought targets the predator again due to craziness.
Shooting
The predator is immobilized.
The Emperors Children
Dan runs forward, but there's no point. The game ends and the Black legion control to objectives
