Lone Wolf Sentinel Pilot

Was wondering if anyone here had any experience in this field? I've had a PSP since the 1st Gen. came out but never really actually used it in more than a travelling purpose. For the past year I've only turned it on when on plane journeys for an hour so that I could weep (again) at my incompetence in Monster Hunter. Now I was really, really bored, and have a lot of work to do, so I was thinking that as an interesting curio I might try and modify the firmware of my PSP, change the crappy layout, put some interesting homebrew on it.
Any tips, good websites etc.?

"And what is wrong with their life? What on earth is less reprehensible than the life of the Levovs?"
- American Pastoral, Philip Roth
Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.
No soldier's paid to kick against His powers.
We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags. |

All depends on the current firmware and the motherboard of it. But if it is actually as old as you say it is it should be possible.
Simply Googling "PSP Custom Firmware" should be enough to get you started.

PSP 1000s can easily have CFW installed on them. You'll need a memory card and a Pandora/Jigkick Battery, but once you've got that, you're away.
You'll want the Xgen installer.

The one thing you'll want to be careful about is that the M-33 series of CFW stopped around 5.60, so is behind the times a bit.

M33 series stops at 5.00, so unless you want to go through trouble so you can play recent games, GEN 5.50 firmware is your best bet.

Its super easy on PSP 1000's I've done 6 or 7 of them for friends.
QJ.net has lots of downloads you can snag for free, just google PSP news and look for the QJnet link.
I miss the old days of IRshell. using my PSP as a universal remote for my whole house... while playing games + listening to music. good times.

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. Emprah's always right. Plus Ole Red has already been denounced as a traitor and I never liked him anyway. Russ: You're about to die, cyclops! Magnus: O noes! Tzeentch, I choose you! Bawwwww! Russ: Ah well. Now to go kill Horus. Russ: Rowboat, how have you not been doing anything? Guilliman: . . . I've been writing a book. Russ: Sigh. Let's go. Guilliman: And I fought the Word Bearers! Horus: Oh shi--Spess Puppies a'comin? Abbadon: And the Ultramarines, sir. Horus: Who? Anyway, this looks bad. *enter Sanguinis* What are you doing here? Come to join me? Sanguinius: *throws self on Horus's power claws* Alas, I am undone! When you play Castlevania, remember me! *enter Emprah* Emprah: Horus! So my favorite son killed my favorite daughter! Horus: What about the Lion? Emprah: Never liked her. Horus: No one does. Now prepare to die! *mortally wounds Emprah*Emprah: Au contraire, you dick. *kills Horus* Dorn: Okay, now I just plug this into this and . . . okay, it works! Emprah? Hellooooo? Jonson: I did nothing! Guilliman: I did more nothing that you! Jonson: Nuh-uh. I was the most worthless! Guilliman: Have you read my book? Dorn: No one likes that book. Khan: C'mon guys. It's not that bad. Dorn: I guess not. Russ: You all suck. Ima go bring the Emprah back to life.
