As the topic states, I need varnish. I would like to know were people get their varnish for their miniatures; and what companies are best. I have over 30 figure completely finished and I am concerned that the paint may chip/wear away. Also I am looking for spay primer; doing another base coat like layer on every figure is not something I relish and I have been told paint on varnish clumps up.

Any polyuratherane clear-gloss varnish will give you very thick protection. You need to get this stuff from a hardware store.

Don't do art-supplier varnish or GW purity seal they are WEAK.
