Are the jungle fighters of Catachan ever fielded out of jungle and woodland areas? I haven't found a clear answer on this yet, and think that Catachan jungle fighters would look cool when modeled to fit them fighting in the 'Concrete Jungle'. I have saw one instance of them fighting out of the jungle in the IG codex, but they are fighting tyranids so it is possible that the area they are in once was a jungle. Please clear things up for me.

I know the portion of the rulebook that has fluff for Tau talks about Catachans on a Desert/Jungle world. So yeah, pretty sure they fight wherever, they're just known for being able to fight in jungles.

The IG codexes and articles, and novels are full of examples of ice world veterans having to fight on lava worlds, desert fighters in jungles and jungle fighters on ice worlds.
For example in the 2nd Gaunt's ghost novel, the Tanith 1st which hails from a forested world with moving trees has to fight in a hive city.

Catachan Jungle Fighters are so named due to the nature of their home world...make no mistake however, a Catachan and his "kiss" are deadly regardless where you encounter them. Indeed, normally you will never encounter them...unless they wish to be seen, which they dont.
Masters of camouflage and hth combat, the Catachan "Devil", as they are known, are amongst the deadliest soldiers the Imperium has at its disposal.
Some facts about Catachan Jungle Fighters: (reposted from an earlier thread long ago)
A Catachan sneaking up on you is actually just being courteous enough to not make your last few minutes as grief stricken, urine stained, and terrifying as they could be.
Even a mark of chaos isn't as dark as the shiner you get from a catachan's kiss.
On predator homeworlds there's a pyramid where once every hunderd years Catachans send their youths to hunt them.
Catachans are the reason that Furiens and Mandalore aren't in 40k.
Catachan Devils can sneak up on the eye of Sauron in broad daylight across an open field wearing flourescents ponchos.
Catachans are the reason there are no Wood-Eldar tribes in 40k.
Catachan women use 'morning after' pills as prenatal vitamins when pregnant with Catachan children.
While not actually magical, a Catachan blade is so sharp it can kill a spirit host or banshee.
If bit by a Catachan you won't actually become a Catachan(that's an old wive's tale)
C'tan is actually Hiveganger slang for a Catachan.
It's true. Catachans sell their surplus 'swords' to the Callidus temple to make a little extra during the holidays.
An unarmed catachan can disarm a Catcus with two moves. A Devil can do it in one and use the Cactus's momentum against it.
Catachans often visit the Emperor to see how he's holding up without mentioning the fact that he was beat up by a sissy-girl. They really do care as is obvious by the flowers and cards that the Adeptus Custodes clean up after them.
(nonchalantly) It's true. It's true.

if you have read the gaunt's ghosts series theres plenty of examples of the tanith first and only (mainly a forest jungle force) being deployed in many different situations. Ok they are specialist recon, sniper and espionage troops. But they have been deployed in trenches, snow, cities, as airborne, underground etc.
