Well, I'm starting myself a Khador force, my first time choosing a force for Warmachine and I'd just like a little advice about what to get for my force next.

So far I have Epic Butcher and.... that's it, there is a 15 point tournament for 'rookies' coming up at my FLGS and since I wont really have much of a chance to see what I like playing with, I'm looking for some advice about what to get that would work well with Epic Butcher for 15 points, also if I need a minimum of anything to play (Like 1 HQ/2 Troops in 40k).

Thanks muchly ^^

welcome to warmachine.
there is no force organization chart or required models for a list outside of a warcaster and the only restrictions come from field allowances.
my advice for any new player is try to play models you like and take a mixed force. in my opinion it is important to have both melee and ranged elements in any list but its difficult to take everything you want in a 15 point list.

Actually, you MUST spend your warjack points is the only other thing I'd say, as they increase
the size of your army list and technically you're not allowed to handicap yourself for organize
play by anything more than 2 points (iirc)

Oh, just one question, do the casters give you more points to buy warjacks with? Thanks for the comments so far but some ideas for specific units/jacks that would work with Epic Butcher are what I really need ^^

But the comments you have made I will definitely keep in mind for when I expand my force.

Each caster is effectively negative points. They give you points that can only be spent on warjacks in their battlegroup and it varies from caster to caster. Regular butcher has 6, but I'm not sure about epic.

I've got the Khador force book and from looking through it, I think it's 6, so I basically 6 extra points of jacks? Sweet!

Yes, eButcher has 6 jack points so for 15 point tournament you would bring 21 points of which at least 6 needs to spent on jacks.

I always thought you couldn't use e warcasters till you hit 35+ points now a days. I also had a lot of fun with regular butcher because he is easy to use and plays well with other big ole smashy jacks aka kodiak ect. I also ran him with assassins because feat + backstab + charge = one dead guy.

Also wardog and man hunters. Great great guys. And the great bears.. Just great too.

In Mk2 there has been no limitations on the use of epic casters, the only limitation was the 750 pts in Mk1.

Oh snap. I didn't know that. I've just been playing it over 35... Maybe because most eCasters (from what I remember/recall) don't play well with low points. Plus ebutcher is kind of complicated for first time players, especially with the whole variable focus.

Hmmm.... I'll look into the war dog and man hunters, and suggestions on Jacks as I think he works quite well with them, his rage drives I think buff them ^^

A 15 Point eButcher list:

eButcher
-> Beast-09
War Dog
5 Man-o-War Demo Crew

Beast-09 is THE Khador Jack. There is almost no caster that he DOESN'T do well with. He's just about everything you could want in a Melee Jack and then some. I would get him before any other Jack since you'll use him a ton.

You could get a second jack in there, at 9 Points a Destroyer is a great bet if you don't want to buy the Man-o-Wars, since they are expensive.

A Destroyer is an awesome jack to have for other lists too.

Buy the War Dog, he's awesome. Keep him out of Butchers Melee range (more than 2", but less than 3" away) so he doesn't get hit when eButcher goes on his Homicidal Maniac binge every time you attack, but he's invaluable for helping Butcher out.

Personally, I'd recommend pButcher rather than the epic version. The Random Focus bit is very unique only to eButcher and I see him taking a lot of experience to be run well.

Plus pButcher has Full Throttle for making your Melee Jacks awesome, and his other spells are actually really good.

Hmmm.... I may consider getting pButcher then.... I'll see how eButcher goes in the tourney, but I quite like a challenge.

I go by 'if you start off with a disadvantage you overcompensate' (Slightly stolen from Douglas Adams) but it means that if you can learn how to be good with something trickier, eButcher for example, you'll find other things/warcasters easier. Also, I loved the model

Btw, suggestions are still welcome as the man o war seem rather expensive, maybe best for a later purchase but I think Beast 09 is a fantastic idea....
