Hola. I just finished a couple of my first Tyranids, and I thought I'd like to show you guys. These pictures are bad (and I was experimenting with lighting) because I've got a piece of chitin webcam. If you guys can tell me the BB Codes for showing pictures,it'll be easier for everyone!

Man,really sorry for the quality. They look good,I swear! YES,THAT IS PINK ON THE CARNIFEX

Awesome, keep it up. It's going to look amazing when your whole swarm has that uniform look to it.

Also, good job on getting the white to show through solidly. White and Yellow are, IMO, the two hardest colors to paint smoothly in the history of the WORLD.

post more as they are done.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Thanks!

Hopefully I can borrow either my mom's 10 mega-pixel camera or my friends 5 Mega-pixel in a couple days, and by that point, I should have another couple models painted.

The bleached bone is slightly easier over a coat of Tallarn Flesh. I got inspiration from this guy: http://mew2cool.deviantart.com/art/Trygon-148087348

photos hint - use a table lamp, reading lamp, or in my case a halogen painting lamp, and use the macro feature to take pictures (it focuses in better up close and gets all the really nifty parts).

I was using a pretty warm light behind the camera. I'll try my painting lamp when I get a better camera. It really makes no difference with this thing. Any significant brightness, and the thing's white balance goes crazy!

Should I attempt my trygon yet,or should I wait until I get a can of bleach-bone spray? Army painter sells some pretty good stuff for about 10 dollars that would save me hours of time and paint.

Awesome model,BTW. Love the washing on the flesh. Looks totally pro.

Oh god, I love army painter primers. Definitely hold out for the paint before starting the trygon. He is such a centerpiece for any army, he absolutely has to steal the show, in my opinion.

Also that mini is an enslaved nephilim ("Roots" reference; his name is Toby!) from the game Malifaux. For anybody who has played Magic: the Gathering, and 40k, i think Malifaux is a great mix of the two game schemes. It's also a great decompressing agent for 40k games, and really causes the player to consider strategy and model placement very carefully.

I've heard about that game. They seem to make pretty good miniatures. 40k is more about overwhelming firepower and insane cc than anything else. It would be a nice change of pace to have to think
