Howdy team.
So, Saturday I've got a 1000/1000 team tournament coming up and I'd like a nicely painted and modeled army. Here's what I've got:
85 Sluggas, 3 Power Klaw Nobz, Mad Doc Grotsnik, and a KFF Mek.
First stage is modeling, which shouldn't take more than a day or two.
Painting should take the better part of two or three days, and that's really all there is to it.
I'll post updates as they happen, with a much better camera. Tomorrow I'll make some posts about the painting scheme and such.
Thanks for looking.

Thanks, Pip. That's pretty close to the painting method I use.
Anyway, here's some update. After sitting down most of the day, watching all of Firefly, breaking for dinner, and a trip to Lowe's, we've got all the models filed down, repaired if necessary, the ones needing a new paint job are soaking in some Simple Green, and all the gun barrels drilled out. Here's some photos:

This is the paint scheme I'm going for. It's going to be three units of Boyz, so I'm figuring a red team, a blue team, and 'Ard Boyz will be black. I know it's not super professional, but I'm pleased with it. I think it looks alright, and it goes fast. I can do 10-15 of them in an hour.
This is my Mad Doc Grotsnik. The only thing I've done to him so far is he has a customized Power Klaw which came from a bit from the Nobz box; I hate the Klaw that comes standard with the Mad Doc, and I think this looks much cooler.
And also, as a side note, while digging through my bits, I found an absolutely horrifying model that I think was somebody's attempt at a "Mega Nob" made by taking a metal nob model covered in Tau bits; I picked it up in a large Bitz lot at an auction. Anyway, I pried off all the offensive bitz and now I'm working on a Waaagh! banner. It won't be going in the army, but I thought I'd mention it anyway since I worked on it today.
Thanks for looking.

Looking good, but I'd scrap the banner on that guy and make it out of rod of some sort, plasticard cut in half like that rarely looks that great for poles and stuff.
Save headaches too

Actually WarOne, these are all Sluggas, the Shootas I picked up from you are fully assembled and awaiting paint, they just didn't fit for this weekend's army.
That said, here's my progress for the day. Painted 30 models today, stripped the models that needed stripping, they're drying now before reassembly and priming. HQ is done, Black team is mostly full, Blue team is developing. Here's some pictures.
HQ Units are done. Here's front and back.

Everything needs some touching up since they've dried and I've examined them a bit more carefully, but that's what we're going for.
And Joyous, I appreciate the tip, but for right now I'm going to stick with the pole; I drilled through the hand and threaded some 18 gauge wire, so it's pretty easy for me to make adjustments. That said, the pole is looking a bit more straight; some green stuff to spackle the spots and some sanding and it should be good to go. Also, here's a power klaw for the banner nob. I just have to figure out a head, since I can't find a metal nob head and the plastic heads don't have necks. I figure some green stuff will fix that too.

Did it!
Tournament was this afternoon. I went 2/1, pulled 3rd place. Anyway, here's the picture of the entire army together.
Thanks for following the thread. I'll be starting a long term P&M Blog soon.
