Hi all

I was looking at the Raven Guard on the FW site, and would like a second opinion on the technique used.
Here is a pic of one as an example:





To me the black does not in fact look as though it has been highlighted per so, but in fact has just been weathered and let THAT provide the depth and definition. I really like the effect and was wondering what people thought, or had any ideas on how to achieve this if it's not weathering powder alone.

Gathering the Informations.

It's painted, but there's a real subtle highlight that you're not going to really notice.

Look at the foot on the top model you've linked. The way it's done is they used Charadon Granite in a 50/50 mix with Chaos Black, and then gradually added more and more Chaos Black before they went on with it.
