There seems to be a disturbing shortage of any plastic or usable bits for a pair of lightning claws, at least for normal space marines. So, to compensate for a) my lack of converting and modelling skills and b) my not so proficient green stuffing skills, I was wondering if you think that this fella could be turned into a marshal for a BT army. http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1240905_99060101340_SMVeteranlightclawsmain_873x627.jpg

I'm planning on laying down lots of crusader seals and Templar-y stuff to represent Artificier Armor, sticking an Iron Halo on him, and then giving him a cross with a skull on it to represent Terminator honors.

Yes? No? Maybe so?

EDIT: Also, does anyone know what's on his left shoulderpad?

Yes!

I've used that same model as a Marshal in fact. There's no reason he can't be used as a Marshal as long as his gear is represented on him. A leader doesn't have to be gaudy.

His left or our left? His left shoulder pad is clean, but the right one has some pieces of parchment nailed to it.

If you do make him please post pics to show him off. Would be nice to see.

Thanks for the comments! After seeing how both of his arms come separately, I have decided that I'll just use the lightning claw in the commander sprue. This way I can use the shoulder pad with Terminator honors at it.

As soon as exams are done and I can order my summer's list of hobby, I'll post up pics of my fledgling crusade.

Another idea that you could do is use the model from the Sword Brethren model kit, thats what i did for my Marshall.

That's what I thought of at first, but I decided that it was too action-y for my intended squad pose. He'll be with a squad of Termies, and they're all going to be at rest as if surveying the field (or their most recent victims), and it wouldn't make much sense to have the marshal randomly charging forward, y'know?

Good idea, no less.
