I was wondering if Ork Forcefields allow for a cover save against barrage attacks. I am not a guru on the rules and a friend of mine told me that Barrage ignores it, but it doesn't make much sense to me that a domed forcefield would be penetrated by a one kind of artillery but would be able to protect units against a large heavy bore shell or explosive. I think he is right because of how barrage was explained to me but I just wanted to make sure.

Barrage doesn't ignore it as the KFF cover is given to everything in range, not just against shots coming from outside the range.

Barrage weapons treat cover as if the shot was fired from the centre of the blast template.
A force field causes you to have cover centred on the model.
You get the cover save.

Barrage has no effect on kff saves.
The cover the kff grants is a simple nondirectional save, and the shot distance or direction doesn't matter.
Templates and other effects that simply ignore cover saves do negate it, for what it's worth.

Your friend is incorrect. A KFF works fine against barrage or even shots from within 6".

The only thing that the KFF does not work against IIRC are weapons that ignore cover such as template weapon and other weapons that specifically state they ignore cover saves such as the IG Colossus Siege Mortar Cannon.
