To be honest this is a stupid question.
All armies are good against one another it depends on the army list and the players tactics. To say if one army is better than another on paper you can see and compare certain units but that is it.

It's not a terrible question. There are factors that affect it, like specific build and such, but certain matchups do favor one army over another. For instance, Brets can have a particularly hard time against VC.

As to the actual question, though- not sure which matchup gives Lizards fits. I don't think they're terribly fond of gunlines if they've gone heavy with the stegs and such, but perhaps a lizard player can weigh in here.

Depends on what kind of lizardmen player he is. Depends on his list.

This is, honestly, a dumb question. If it where that simple, there would be no tactics involved except rolling dice.

Give us the actual list or play style of this lizardmen player(s) and we will be able to help you.

This is kind of a hostile set of responses, Dakka. We've called it a stupid question, and a dumb question. Cut that statement out of each post, and you've got a more constructive response.

Really don't think there's any need to be rude.

Camboyaz, as you can see- you'll get a more detailed, useful reply if you provide some more details yourself. Let us know if you've got 'em.

A little hostile but true ... this isn't rock paper scissors ... end of the day its pointless to answer without more info.

If this was a question like "what (name of army)'s units do well against Stegadon?" we might be able to help.

Still not enough. We need ...

1) how many points you're playing
2) what models you already have
3) even if you don't know what they're all called you should at least be able to describe some ... we're good at guessing.

When I play orcs at 2250 points:

BO warboss on boar
BO boss BSB with morks spirit totem
2 level 2 goblin shamans
3x35 units of NGs with 3 fanatics each and nets.
5 spider riders
2 units of 2 snotlings
2 units of 8 squig hoppers
4 spear chukka
2 giants

That is pretty much my standard tourney list.

However I'd drop the giants and replace with 2 doom divers, and a mass of 2 units snotlings.

Of course in 1 month none of this will matter....
