Subject: Just how much do you think this Gundam kit is worth?

I wasn't sure exactly where to put this - it is in a way a miniatures/model related question, so I guessed it was best to put here.
So just recently I managed to find a Mobile Suit Gundam RX-78 kit from 1983. It is long OOP from what I can tell, and still new on sprue - some parts are even still in their bags. I know Gundam kits go for a lot of money out there; I've bought more than a few myself in the past. My question is whether or not this is worth anything. Here's some pictures:

Balls, that's awful. For a vintage model kit that's pretty weak - thought I had something special here

Bandai might still be producing it. It's one of the very first gundam kits, and it's the RX-78. If I've learned one thing about Bandai and the RX-78, they'll do anything to put out as many models of that MS as possible.
Shame it's not even worth selling, it's an ugly ass kit too. I mean, for it's time, it's undoubtly amazing, 1983 injection plastic and all (although to be fair, GW just can't do with plastic what the Japanese can, and never have been able to keep up with them), but these days, it's just plain fugly.

I know they still make kits of the RX-78, just wasn't sure if an old model would be worth anything. Looking at the parts the detail is pretty poor and the proportions are kinda silly, but it's an old model so what the hey. Thanks for your help!

If you track down Toru Furuya and Brad Swaile you might be able to get a bit more though.
I'm not sure many people could say they have a 20+ year old Gundam model signed by both the Japanese and English voice actors.

Don't throw it out witht he trash yet, maybe to a collector the age of the kit makes it actually worth more.

I'm no expert on Gundam kits (though I have assembled a few and they tend to be excellent). But from what I can tell Japan-side, Gundams rarely seem to be collectors items. Bandai produces them in stupidly huge quantites and they seem to be sold in just about every venue that someone vaguely male might one day venture into. I've frequently seen stores with so many kits that they have to drastically discount the ones that don't sell (just about the only serious retail discounting I ever see over here).
Apart from the Gundam Seed Archangel kit though, which you will need to recruit a crypto-zoologist to even locate in the wild.
Any classic Macross kit though may as well be made of solid gold.
