Hey dakkaites. So I've been in the hobby for about 4ish years now, had to take a break with my job and all in between there and now. So I've been in for about 4 years and I have never been able to find the inspiration to sit down and paint the now mass of models I have acquired. I attribute this to the fact that there are so many other things that distract me such as reading, drawing, video games, and the internet a long with everyday life such as work. So, my question to the community is; how do you get inspired to paint an army with all the modern day distractions? I've tried setting time apart for it anda few other thingsa nd nothing seems to work. It just seems like one more thing I can add to my problem of having too many hobbies, so if anyone ahs any advice, speak up!

Why not combine your love of video games, drawing , and warhammer by drawing out a character from a video game, sculpting that model, and painting it ?
Maybe even do video game based armies, or even necromunda gangs.

Lol, I kind of want to get the mass of unpainted models I have painted was my problem, sorry if I didn't point that out.

The easiest way for me is to pop in fitting music (depending on what you are painting, look on youtube for dawn of war soundtracks , or for example, listen to Nox Arcana when painting vampire counts...) , it inspires me to interpret how I would paint (insert army here) and just sets the mood.

Hm, ok i'll try that. That sounds like a good idea. Now I just need an music for Eldar... Any ideas? lol

If you dont take the time to do something, its usually an indication that you dont like doing it.

Sell your stuff and concentrate on the things you love in life.

Zarkin, I love doing far too many things, lol. I have painted a few things, just not a lot. I love doing it and I love modeling, I've actually started getting a bit into converting, I just never seem to finish anything.
