A list I wrote up for a bit of fun, one day I will have enough models...

HQ

> Hive Tyrant - 330pts
- with 2 twin linked Devourers, Old Adversary, Hive Commander and Regeneration
- accompanied by a Tyrant Guard

> Hive Tyrant - 305pts
- with 2 twin linked Devourers, Old Adversary and Regeneration
- accompanied by a Tyrant Guard

Elites

> 3 Hive Guard - 150pts

> 3 Hive Guard - 150pts

> 3 Hive Guard - 150pts

Troops

> Tervigon - 195pts
- with Adrenal Glands, Toxin Sacs and Catalyst

> Tervigon - 195pts
- with Adrenal Glands, Toxin Sacs and Catalyst

> Tervigon - 195pts
- with Adrenal Glands, Toxin Sacs and Catalyst

> 20 Termagaunts - 100pts

> 20 Termagaunts - 100pts

> 19 Termagaunts - 100pts

Heavy Support

Trygon - 200pts

Trygon - 200pts

3 Biovores - 135pts

Total - 2500 pts

Termagaunts form a great big screen and which the Tyrants, Tervigons, Hive Guard and Biovores hide behind, acting as an anvil. Tyrants and Tervigons positioned so that all the Termagaunt units get the bonuses. Trygons deepstrike in, helped by the Tyrants hive commander ability and take out any armour which the hive guard can't take out.

Thoughts, feelings and ideas appreciated.

Wow I would hate to meet a Salamnaders list in a back ally with this list XD

but jokes aside I like it, I always love when people may out on hive guard, tho those tyrants make me cringe on their points cost.

maybe skim points, and drop the biovores for some gargoyles? just a personal taste

I really don't see the point of shooty Tyrants. They are awesome in CC so why not use them for that.

I would drop one unit of termagaunts and a tyrant, put a tervigon in HQ and get heaps more hormagaunts.
This army lacks a bit in combat ability.

WarEagle: Most of the tyrants costs are there to support the army, eg. the old adversary makes everything within 6" more powerful, and so i think they're high cost is worth it. The guard on them i just gave them because i had the points left over and nothing better to use them for. If i take gargoyles i will need to take some fast moving synapse for them, then i will have a fragile high point unit charging into rapid fire range of the enemy.

omgnowaiii: The TS, AG, OA and FnP will make the termagaunts a good CC unit, and they can shoot. I hate hormagaunts. I hate the fact that the models they don't stand up, they are mediocre in CC and can't be re- spawned out of a tervigon if they die.

Fair points. I still think 2 tyrants is a bit much. Drop one and move a Tervigon into the HQ spot then load up on some more termagaunts. By taking out the cheaper of the Tyrants you can max out on 4 squads of 30 termagaunts. Then all the spawned goodness.

Just as an FYI your gaunts are only about 1 in tall and wont give cover to your MC. they need 50% coverage or your not shooting through the unit. you can mod them out to stand up strate (and look good so the guy across the table dosent b***h).

omgnowaiii: the 2 tyrants ensure that most of the army is covered by the preferred enemy rule. 30 Termagaunts will be really hard to move round the board and get cover saves.

komosunder: I know, but i can hide them behind the tervigons, which would be easier and less cheesy to modding a load of gaunts so their and inch or two taller.
