What a strange battleforce this is...It come with 2 units of warriors and 3 destroyers ....What the heck? I know necron players use mainly warriors, but really? This is all they can give you?

Looking at the necron model range,I can see that only 3 or so models are plastic (warriors, destroyers and monoliths), but even a monolith would be nice in the battleforce (although it would easily fill up the battleforce box by itself!)

Anyway, what are your thoughts on Necrons as an army? Where do you think they're going? Do they need moar plastic models to fill up a battleforce? Should GW just make metal battleforces?

Necrons are one of those model kits that have no love. They along with the Daemonhunters are hard pressed for an update. As long as GW refuses to include more miniatures in their line, all you will get is...well....all the plastic models they offer.

And the Battleforce is still a relatively cheap option, as it gives you around 500 points of Necrons that will form the base of your Necron army for now.

Necrons need love, I have toyed with the idea of starting an Army for ever and a day but always come up short on it all..

I just got back into the game. I went necron for a few reasons. First by my calculations they are one of the cheapest armies to field, and thats pretty important for me right now because I need to get into a good game group and play regularly to see any sense in spending alot of loot.

Second I wanted to play something I never had, something totally out of the norm for me.

I went with the battle box to start. The box comes with 28 warriors ( a box of 12 warriors is $35) and 3 destroyers ($20 each) Id estimate the value of the box split up to be worth over $135, so $90 is pretty good. Plus my local shop does 10% off all plastic boxes. I dont know if thats like a universal thing or not but it covers the taxes here you would have paid.

It would be awesom if the box had a monolith but the monolith comes in the same exact size box as the battle force.

Most metal mini's are elite choices except wraiths, which a fast attack. The only elites I can really see feilding flayed ones, they are also the best deal, $14 iirc for 2 vs Immortals & Pariahs which are the same price for one mini.

Necrons IMHO are pretty cool, I love the story line. They need a update though badly, and some new mini's. Im hearing early 2011 is when they are getting their update. As they are, necs are a tad bit boring. I love them none the less.
