Ok so the Iron Warriors worship their weapons and the Night Lords simply went rogue because their Primarch did. The Word Bearers worship all 4 pantheons.

Well say a group of Astartes turned to Chaos due to circumstances beyond their control. However they saw first hand what the Chaos Gods do to their followers. What if they worshiped the idea of Chaos itself, Anarchy and disorder?

Is that a viable idea of Chaos Undivided? As I'm sorta writing fluff of my little army for a campaign me and some buds wanna do.

Yeah sounds ok.
Alternatively the marines could just go renegade and not worship chaos or serve the imperium/emperor.
But if you want chaos marines that aren't any particular god then them worshipping chaos undivided is fine.

Well I use the Chaos Codex, but I've contemplated using the Space Wolf dex.

Space Wolves make good renegades but most would become khorne worshippers or maybe tzeentch for the rune priests not a good idea for undivided

For recently turned loyalists space marine codex represents their equipment and organisation better than the chaos marine codex

For longer turned "traitors" chaos marine codex would be better or maybe just a recently turned loyalist chapter/company that has lost it's equipment and is using old stuff taken from defeated warbands etc

I think I will give the Wolf book a good look, as I do like how their quite good in close combat. And I have a Bear model I want to model a Chaos Marine onto.

As stated. They don't need to worship a specific god fervently. The black legion are like this. They deal with the ruinous powers they need/want to deal with as they need. So yeah go for it if you want to model an army with no specific allegiance.

Malal is the god that hates all other gods and seeks to destroy chaos with chaos. So probably not the best one to use. This site is the best compilation of references to him I know.

The Word Bearers do venerate chaos as a whole hence the, if the Emperor won't allow our worship of him as a God, then we'll find Gods who will accept our worship, sort of thing.

There is a chaos god mentioned on the WHFB versiohn of lexicanum that is a god of anarchy he's a minor god but still

Worshipping Chaos as an ideal rather than one of its specific manifestations is totally acceptable. As I understand it, (and as has been stated above) both the Word Bearers and the Black Legion do this. If you are looking at doing a renegade chapter that isn't interested in being all Chaos tainted, I suggest looking (for fluff) in the books Soul Hunter and Legion. Both of these talk about legions who turned from the Imperium for reasons other than slavish devotion to a Chaos entity. If you can stomach Ben Counter's writing, then the Soul Eater's Omnibus might also be a good source of information. (But don't pay for the book. We don't want to encourage him.)

But actually I think the IW and the NL dont worship any of the chaos gods ether nor really chaos ether. They see the warp as more of a tool more then anything else. They use it but they are not gunna die in its name.

Unless the Chapter that turns heretical is LARGE, they would never create their own legion. They would just join a larger legion (maybe after working with them for a couple campaigns). Most chapters are small (if we're talking successor chapters, not major chapters) and they don't have enough members to maintain the rouge lifestyle.

Yeah, I believe there is some fluff of the Night Lords using summoned daemons during Scound's Fall to make good their escape.

I think it is quite possible that a renegade band would seek to worship the anarchy and disorder that they cause the Imperium. It would be validation to their existence that replaced the silence of the Emperor.
