Okay, I know BT Drop Pods don't have that nice "enter on turn 1" rule that 5th ed marines get, but BT pods are cheaper so I decided to create a pod-heavy list for the Surprise Attack battle mission. Anyway, I wanted to try it in a normal game and it was remarkably fun to play. Not to mention the fact that I won a game and only barely lost a game (due to a tactical error on my part). Also, I know it's kinda unclear as to whether an attached IC can ride in a pod, but I don't think anybody in my group cares. It's not like it's overpowered or anything.
The basic strategy is keep my tanks on the back edge and pop transports/tanks until my reserves arrive (i'm pretty lucky with reserves). Squad-pods drop behind anti-vehicle squads/vehicles, Dred-pods drop behind anti-infantry squads/vehicles. Everything shoots when it arrives, then hopefully I can take the counterattack. Once enough reserves come in, I've noticed a lot of pressure come off my predators, so they're free to shoot up whatever is available.
Thought's on the list? Anywhere I could strengthen my force?
