NO, they should not go to Chaos! They came face to face with their own internal failings and rejected the path. They know they are capable of going to Chaos but are going to great lengths to make sure that it never happens again. Hence, all the robes and praying. That said, there are still Fallen. Not all went bad. Those that did became full Chaos Marines and after 10,000 years of the Dark Angels wearing green armor. Whose going to cry say it was a Dark Angel when they see a black marine bearing a parody of the Dark Angels sigil. It isn't common knowledge to the people of the Imperium. Hell, it isn't common knowledge to the power armoured brethren of the Dark Angels.

So again, No! Some when to Chaos, the rest got repulsed, found God (or the Emperor in this case) and now do everything in their power to bring their wayward brethren back into the fold to remove that particular stain from their honor.

If you want to go down a similar road, how about how the Thirteenth Company of Wolves are going to be brought back into life in the Fang? 

I must commend you Grand Master Belial on your defense for the Dark angels. Wish more were able to anwer like that weather it is pro or con. Granted you dont agree with me. I have never thought about the old color schems of the Dark angels in that way before. As for the Space wolves 13th. was it ever mentioned if it was the gene seed trait or actual influence of chaos that made them look like a werewolf looking thing. IF it is Chaos influence then there could be another chapter that could go Chaos with the dark angels. Also nice avatar design. did ou make that yourself? or is there a web site that has flag designs of all the chapters?

Behold it is I, supreme_grandmaster_azrael. lol, I play with the Dark Angels and have read some of their history. I dont think they need to go to Chaos but if they did all I ask is they dont change the color scheme. way to much for me to repaint my models. I think the fact that there is only a handful of fallen it makes it hard for anyone to get there secret out cause there are not alot to be spotted. Now look at cypher. he has the nice white robe that covers his armor, so you cant see what branch they are from. Civilians wont see the Dark angels that are fallen unless they are about to die, mainly cause they are not in war zones, unless they are about to be attacked. The fallen know they are being hunted and I would have to assume they dont really want to draw to much attention. They will show them selves when they must. But no more. Cant help ya with the Wolves. dont have that codex. And I have no friends who play Space wolves. so the fluff on them is anyones guess.

Supreme_grandmaster_azrael: Just to add to what you have said, people probably wouldn't recognise the Fallen anyway. They still wear the pr-Heresy black colour scheme, plus, how many citizens are actually aware of SM heraldry, iconography and combat colours?

I think the secret should be out and in the open!

I thought that would have been obvious from my previous posts.  I don't agree with you.  Dark Angels have spent the last ten thousand years hunting down their fallen brethren in order to atone for their sins, why the hell should they be a chaos unit?

And i'm known as slowed on these forums am i?  That's nice.  I must be feeling the influence from the majority of new posters here.

I think you've been somewhat harsh on people, Wolf Lord Logan Grimnar. This is the second thread in which you've just slammed people when they've been expressing an opinion or messing around. Darkchild is a good contributor to Dakka, plus it's a bit rude to use the word slowed (maybe un-PC even for an online forum.. see what I did there?). I don't like to have a go at people's posts but you've been plain rude. If this carries on, one of the Mods will close this thread, and no more talky about Chaotice Dark Angels. That makes me sad...... So let's keep it clean and friendly, folkies.

Back to DA. I think they're one of the Chapters LEAST likely to turn to Chaos. Having seen the effect Chaos has upon men more closely than other Chapters, and what with the, probably, better kept records due to the uber-clandestine inner circle (that is, better than other Imperial records), they'd be virtually hell bent on sticking to the straight and narrow. I very much doubt (in spite of the piccy of the Red Corsair DA in the Chaos Codex) that any DA's have turned since the Heresy. I'd be interested to find out if more DA's left the Chapter immediately after the Heresy, thinking they should have sided with Luther.

As far as I know, it's the flaw in the gene-seed that makes Wolves go Wulfen. However, since they went into the Eye. No one is absolutely positive that Chaos didn't have a hand in pushing the mutation into a Wolfy version of the BA's Black Rage. Kind of like a Chaos God's way of pinning a 'Kick Me!' sign on the back of a Space Wolf.

Don't forget about the Astral claws was a more recent chapter that went to Chaos. They changed their name to the Red Corsairs and they recruit renegades from all the loyal chapters (In the CSM Codex they show a Space Wolf and a Dark Angel as a Corsair.  

The avatar is an old scan of Belial's banner from the 2nd Edition Codex back when the DA Company markings were tied with the Captain's (or Company Grand Master) heraldry. A time when DA were more knightly as well as pious.

re: no stories of "We just got attacked by the Dark Angels!"

See the BT codex. It lists them going up against the Angels over a Fallen, then mysteriously disappearing without reporting back to their chapter keep...

In that BT Codex story it doesn't state who attacked the BT.. could be Chaos, necrons or Nids...

anyway.. one reason for DA not turned into Chaos:
- If I wanted to play a Chaos army I would... I chose DA because tehy teether on the brink but they are still loyal.. they're the anti-heroes, one might say. "good guys" that do what needs to be done, no mercy, no remorse.
Turning them into Chaos would just classify them along with all other chaos legions that felt betrayed by the Emperor... boooooring.
Plus i'm not fond of the spikes, skull on spikes, skulls on chains and chains on spikes that chaos marines have.
