Man, thanks for putting the little directional arrows on picture #2. I've been sitting here for two hours holding a washer on a file with my finger and nothing was happening! Then I referred back to the pics and found my mistake!

Seriously though, this is truly awesome. Not only have you come up with a fantastic conversion idea and realized it, but you have done the same with an alternate method. Finally, you have made excellent step by step guides for both! Truly worthy of a sticky or a spot in the albums section or something. Again, very cool.

i was just curious, what was the length, width, and approx diameter of the scratch build assault cannon and if it was slightly larger or smaller than the official one plastic one. Because of the crazy prices i just stuck with my metal termies instead of the plastic ones. thanks

Since I don't own any of the new plastic ones I can't say which is bigger. I can say that the one I made is larger in diameter and length than the original metal ones, in fact it makes them look amemic in comparison. I'll post up a comparison shot when I get home.
