BWB is mostly in the wrong here, IMO. They should take his credit card or money order and process the attempted purchase at the original price. It's what most good merchants would do to keep a happy customer.

Hellfury bringing up any comparison to New Wave is just ridiculous, however.

Thats fair, and the intention wasnt to compare BWB in anyway to Newwave. I dont think there has been a business with acumen as bad as newwave.

As I have said before, this is the first instance of anything from BWB as I regard to be spurious.

To clarify, the intention was for word of mouth. Word of mouth almost killed newwave (not to mention consumer protection agencies, of this I have proof) because of complaints. Loss of revenue makes business's stand up and listen to the consumer.

If no one complains, then the business proceeds as normal and they have no checks and balances regarding their services. To complain is to get a result, as any form of feedback. The result I seek is to get what I paid for by mail (or tried to pay for by credit card.) The squeeky wheel gets the grease and if I dont complain, who will be next?

Again, there is no way in hell I think that BWB is as bad as newwave. Newwave was simply criminal. BWB made an error in judgement (IMO).

You know what, not everyone is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. And that needs to be said time and time again.

If the problem was yours or if it was BWB it does not matter. A mistake was made, and it happens. This isn't automatically an indicator of poor moral fiber, nor does it indicate a change in policy. It is one mistake, a mistake which causes some amount of distress to one person. Condemning a store due to one order is foolish, however if the intent is to bring to light an error in order to facilitate improvement on BWBs part then go for it.

See?! See?! This is what playing GW games with GW models does to you! Think of the children! THE CHILDREN!

Needless to say, I blame GW. And Richards. Possibly Malfred.

Personally, I feel HF is in the right here, and while I appreciate a business' desire to not look foolish, 'the customer is always right' as the old saw goes, and their energy would be better spent rooting out the problem and offering to make nice publically, while haggling out the details privately. That's what I've seen most businesses try to do when a customer complains publically, and that's certainly what I'd prefer as a customer

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

I've been extremely happy w/ bwb. I've recieved everything quick, except the fact that I ordered tau fw helmets for the sole purpose of recieving the little antenea, and much to my dismay, recieved none. I was lucky and ordered crouching legs when they were 4.99!

I've had several orders filled by BWB with ZERO problems. Judging by the rest of the responses here, the general concensus is that BWB does a good job. They'll continue to get $$ from me if their prices stay fair.

HF, I can totally appreciate your issues with BWB as far as having to pay a substantially higher rate for the same bits. This ofcourse, is assuming that things went down as you stated. The only way for us to know things transpired the way you say is with proof, the burden of which, is on you.

Been a while since I used a MO, but don't they have a section with a date, to tear and keep for your records? That, an order confirmation, and any correspondence would atleast make those calling bs be quiet.

As it stands, this is a he said/ she said issue. BWB replied once and stated their side of the matter. There's really no need for them to say much more. Nor do I see any real reason for them until you can refute their statements with proof.

Well I have stated my case without being so crass as to show everyone dated copies of email and such. I am sure BWB can appreciate me not publishing their emails for everyone to see. The statements have been refuted to them via email.

If what I am saying is not true, then BWB can most certainly respond to disagree.

That has not been done. Nor have they replied to me in email as to how this will be taken care of. So I wait for the response, or my money orders to be returned by mail.

Actually, I am not looking for people to scrutinize records of the transaction.
I am just letting people know what has happened and what to POSSIBLY expect.

So now...no doubt...they'll make good on your order since they have your money order finally, and all your hellfury will be for naught as they do the right thing.

I'm gonna guess you haven't worked much in retail. I can only imagine the number of hucksters that have tried to default them with the money order option. In fact I find it amazingly courteous of BW to even offer it as an option at all. It would be quite possible that once the order is placed as a money order that they CAN'T change it to debit/credit for the simple problem of your information security and their legal liability. Hell, he may not even have a credit card machine in his physical location since he expects all credit card orders to be done securely over the net. If he did and you were somehow a victim of identity theft through their 'good will' (an intercepted phone call, a piece of paper found by the wrong people, etc) I'm quite certain you would hold them liable. If I were them I wouldn't want to take a hard copy of your credit card information either. I would tell you to reorder via the secure online system as well (though it would be nice if they could either reset the price or give you a one time discount code to make up for the price difference though.)

Incidentally, and something to note for other money order purchasers, assume the "two-week grace period" means that you have two weeks to get the money order to them....NOT two weeks to put the money order in the mail, so send off the MO that day. Think of it from BW's perspective...if you order the parts, then wait two weeks to put the MO in the mail, then they have to wait a week for the post office to deliver the MO, then he's had that inventory essentially on hold for three weeks waiting for your money. Three weeks during which he could have sold the items to someone using their credit card on the net. This is especially heinous on a large order as it ties up a lot of inventory, and to be honest, it makes them question the validity of the order. I'm guessing that not everyone orders $300 worth of bits everyday, and if they do they more than likely put it on a credit card to get it as soon as possible.

I'm sure the owner of BW Bits would love to be able to float $300 worth of inventory for three weeks and not worry about actually getting the money, but I doubt he's big enough time for that. It's more than likely a couple of guys working out of the basement or the spare room over the garage.

Now that they've got your money, I would hope they make good with the order. I would also hope that you would then apologize to them for the misunderstanding, and promote them as adamantly as you spread your displeasure with their policies and procedures put in place for their, and your, protection.

Well said Headhunter.  I think BWbits only mistake here was accepting MO's in the first place.  They are a GIANT pain in the butt, and now with modern debit cards and services like paypal there really is no need.    MO's are also worse for the customer, because unlike credit/debit cards and paypal, there is no buyer protection built in.

While customers generally believe that buisness are the guys constantly trying to defraud folks of $$, you just need to run a buisness to understand that for every 1 bogus business there are hundred's of 'customers' working out ways to beat your system and take your product for less than you charge.  Anyone who has ever worked at a service counter for a major retailer can tell you all kinds of horror stories.

I hope everything works out for the best, and I'm glad that other folks have taken the time to post thier positive experiences with the business.

Its supply and demand. To be fair, $15 isnt huge price to pay for an item that everyone wants. BWB has to buy the sprue, pay shipping, clip it down and organize orders. There is a bit more worked involved there than what GW does I presume.

Everyone wants two for their termies. If they sold them for $5 it would mean a huge loss for them.

Just a point of reference, I did too with New wave for the 2 orders I did place(ok one from me, and one from my wife for a holiday present).

Now I dont think BWB is nearly NW, but I'd personal would now be a slight bit mroe hesitant to order from them. Just as with NW, some folks had perfect orders too....

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...
