Computer Science is just applied mathematics. At my school, a math minor was like 4 extra classes, although after 3 of them I didn't feel up to taking another 400 level math course.

Sorry to bump a week old thread, but I have a question. Warwalker models only (annoyingly) come with one of each weapon. I can probably get spares elsewhere, but how effective is a unit where each walker packs a Scatterlaser and Starcannon each? Do people think that's still a good balance?

Could work, but it misses out on the main tactic used with the Blackmoor pattern, which is to keep the more expendable ones in front.
There's nothing stopping you from swapping the guns between your vehicles. Even if all you have is a squad of Warwalkers, you should be able to go 2x scatter, 2 x starcannon, 1 x scatter + 1 x shuricannon. And if you buy a single other vehicle (say a Falcon), the current boxed sets include the heavy weapons sprue, so there's your missing scatter laser.

I should be able to get the spares eventually from a Waveserpent, just wasn't sure if they'd fit right (don't have one to check). Got a friend gonna give me some if he can find them, too, so it's not a major concern. I just can't finish them right now. To put my question in a bit more context, I only run one squad of Walkers, and am just mulling over the idea that always having weight of fire and AP2 available might be worth the loss of a total of 2 shots and the cost of 20 points. Still just fine tuning my list, really, and have no Eldar playing experience.

Be careful on one point. (unless they repackaged the Falcon weapons). The weapons in the Warwalker and Wraithlord boxset are slightly different from those in the Falcon and Waveserpent. A scatterlaser is a scatterlaser, but the actual weapons from said box sets are different in appearance (slightly).

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |
