Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

You mean 'monkey see monkey do', Jezza.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

The elves seem to be pimped up in the armor section, indeed!

Not that it's a bad thing, considering that high cost/low armor save and toughness troops tend to be underpowered, but 3+ armor save is something I don't think when I hear elves. While I dislike the reference to the 40k Eldar, vulnerable troops which pack a good punch or are otherwise specialized would be the best way to represent the elves, imo. Always strikes first (if that is the rule) sounds strange to me. Apart from that, it's not even clear if this rule isn't overrode by the "chargers strike first" rule...

Oh, and jmurph? Heavy armor and a shield is 4+, the same thing all of my high elf spearmen have now. Ithilmar armor gives a 4+, heavy is only 5+.

They can get 3+ by using their hand weapon instead of the spear. Of course given that they fight in three ranks and always strike first with 18 or so attacks, I can't see why they would.

THE MINIS

Alith Anar. (Gary Morley).

WHYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this man not content with murdering all of the LOTR High Elves he touches with his cursed hands!!!!

Why is he even still working for GW? He constantly produces ridiculous mini after ridiculous mini.

High Elves really look like they are going down hill if he's incharge of new special characters.

And where the hell is Jes Goodwin? His original High Elf minis and concepts were legendary. Has GW kept him in the nether region of 40K?

AFAIK, Jes Goodwin is in charge of the plastic sprue department.

Well thank god for that, but is he actually directing the high elf plastics? I thought that was Martin Footit?

I guess that Jes achieved a manager position. Both can work on the same project. Perhaps Martin designs the plastics and Jes oversees the result - scale, consistency, etc. and has a final word on what is being done.

Being in charge of the plastic sprue department doesn't mean you have to design them all, all by yourself...

Yoor Speeshawl too Gawd!

Asur.org has all the rumors annotated and a pic of the hero sprue.  The horsies still look too My Little Ponyish for my taste.
