Oh how I pine for the Orks to be made good again. Just wait till Xmas, or even sooner after the fact happens that the rumors start flowing.
All I know is that we need core issues fixed:
More Anti-Tank to deal with Skimmers and regular armor. More reliable methods to get our super-fragile assault units...into assault.
It's funny how we're supposed to be "the toughness army" but I can't have characters that are immune to instant death, or even T5 naturally. And that my core assault units are much more fragile than Eldar or Imperial models with good armor saves. As it is a T4 Ork with extra points spent on it for Grots or a KFF Big Mek/Burna Squad leaves me with a unit as durable as a T3 4+ Save unit (banshee's, Eldar, etc) and without said grots, the difference goes through the roof. And even with that said, look at Scorpions or Sisters, T3 with a 3+ Save is infinitely more durable than an Ork boy, even with extra points spent on Grots or a KFF mob/unit to give 5+ cover.
Issues like this, and the fact that assault units moving 6" a turn max will never ever see combat, means that things really need to be addressed in a new dex.
Hopefully we'll see some nice new rules to make the Orks into an army I don't feel handicapped playing after using other armies in 40k.
