I'm putting the finishing touches on this army today, but while I finish that and get the final photos taken, I've got an update so you can see how it's coming together.

As before, there are lots more pictures in the site gallery here and here.

That's the piece I've been waiting to see. That tank looks wonderful. Very nice shading.

Is that a M60 turret?

That tank is absolutely awesome, I love it.

Painter 6479, I recommend you attach that picture of the tank (or more of them) to your post instead of just linking to the image. That way the picture will show up on the front page of Dakka and if people click on it out there they'll be taken directly to this thread.

That's how I got here

And wow, what a tank! Great work on the short guys in general, though the dude nuzzling the plasma is a bit of an odd sculpt

I have to say, that tank struck me as a Md. Tank from Advance Wars. Really cool though, awesome stuff.

I'm sayin you'd probably be pretty close on if you can get ahold of a 1/35 scale M60 Patton Tank. Did some quick photo comparisons and it seems to match up pretty well. Judge for yourself:

Photo is not a model of course..

Hey there,
Great Eyes, Infact, the M60 Patton turret is exactly what I used to put it together, I used the 1/35 scale for the demolisher,
I found a bunch of "snaptite" 1/48 scale ones that I will use for the chimeras... they look awesome!
all the gear racks and extra goodies mixed with the IMperial accessories sprue really does the trick.

So,
I seriously need some help with the armor colors, I am monkeying around right now with paint schemes, and all are falling short... excuse the pun,
Please have a look at the painted vehicles and give me some brutal feedback..
thanks

The green color seems to be far too stark of a contrast in my opinion. If you are set on using a green, I would go with a very very dark and subdued green.... maybe a Vallejo grey-green color (careful they have multiple grey-greens or green-greys). I would definitely go with a grayer tone in the green though. Right now it is just too bright. The tank itself and the skill of painting is just incredible. I love the old squat models. I have 3 or 4 of them in my bits box and have no idea what to do with them.

I like the tank and even though their is a rather large contrast I think the colorscheme works well. It looks very germanic or nordic.

That green is too bright to go with the rusty red. A darker green and a browner yellow might work better.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

I will make adjustments accordingly, you are all right, it just jumps out, and I dont much fancy the bold green with such a drab red... its a little inconstent, I was just trying to avoid it all running together...
hrmmm

That is awesome!

Scratch built or kit bashed? (And if so, from where?)

Nice work!

mostly scratch built,
went downt the hardware store, got a plastic electrical box, some multi-flange PVC pipe, plasticard and rummaged in my bits box..
but all in all, took a day to hash together, and for as rough as it is, serves its purpose in spades

That is one kick-butt basilisk substitution!!! I like it quite a bit and would be very tempted to steal at least part of the idea.
