Now we're starting to roll a little bit. It's amazing how once I've got the actual materials together, I actually work on them. Huh, weird. Anyway, I've added the static grass to the mix. Next step is the slightly melty snow. That's going to be a bit more of an ordeal.

Overview.

Close-up. Mmm, grassy.

Three days to go! How are we all doing?

Defender and Bokur are done (sans sealing/flocking). Longguner UA and Jr. are 60%-ish (fleshtones details and touchups, mostly). It'll be to the wire, but barring heavy workload or sickness for the kid (tu-tu), I'll meet my goals.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

Way too behind to recover, it's looking like I'll only have the Wraithlord and Falcon done by Thursday, with maybe the guardians basecoated. The Wraithlord's either going to look weak or incredibly badass, and I'm still undecided on Falcon decoration, but I have some ideas. Pics soon.

I deviated off course this month but i usually do when it comes to modelling/painting. This month i managed the following;

Deathwing (x10) 90% complete - on track.
Tactical squad (x10 marines) complete- yippee!
Vets (x7) plus librarian conversion built and primed- complete- yippee!
Rhino- built/primed and painted- not on original vows!
Dreadnought-built/primed/painted- not on original vows!
Chaplain with jump-pack conversion for Raven Guard built and primed- oops! also not on original vows!
Command squad and company master-converted/built/primed - painting; 20% complete (basecoats) . Not on original vows!
And last but no means least; Black Legion Fellblade ( baneblade conversion) -60% complete and looking amazing. By far the most fun as the ideas flowed this weekend.

So...... didn't stick to all my vows but got a lot done. Averaged about 4 to 5 hours a night during the week and managed 10-16 hours over the last couple of weekends!

Can't wait til next month!!!!

My computer has crashed and burned at least three times
this weekend. I've been in a funk and unwilling to paint.

:( Sorry to hear that Malf and Turtle. But go everyone who was productive!

Just got the UA and Jr. done, so I met my goals. Will try to get some pics up tomorrow/Friday. I even managed to work on a 2nd ed. rhino kitbash and a pile of England Invaded figs (well, basing and cleaning).

Final report for the month.

I had vowed to finish a 4x4 board, 2 hills, 2 forests, and an unspecified number of obstacles. Here's what I've ended up with:

Croe: My god, the clear cutting has gotten out of hand.

4x4 board
3 hills
5 forest templates (those are the plain, flat, circular things)

The thing is that none of it is "finished." There are no trees in the forests, no snow, and I've got some final details to do (mostly a splotchy ink wash to add texture). When the money flow increases, I'll be adding the trees. Hopefully next month.

Overall, I would call it a highly successful month, despite not strictly completing my vows. The penitent crusade will begin later tonight.
