Hi All,
I know the competition is closed, but I thought the SM were a bit under represented so:
HQ:
Epistolary
Storm of the Emperors wrath
Fury of the Ancients
Troops:
Scouts x 6
Sniper rifles x 5
Missile launcher
Scouts x 6
Sniper rifles x 5
Missile launcher
Fast:
Land speeder squadon
LS Tornado x 2
Land speeder squadon
LS Tornado x 2
Land speeder squadon
LS Tornado x 1
If my maths is right that is exactly 750 points.

I agree that blackguard's list is the strongest of the choices.
As a mech Eldar player, I can say that simply shaking the three Prisms will screw Shirou's list. Any list heavy on the mid or high strength firepower could do so. Not that it would be anything but fun to play against, as super-mobile firepower at 750 points on a 6x4 board makes for a fun game of hide-and-go-seek.
The 'Zilla list is just a bit more broken, as it never stops firing/crunching untill the models are destroyed. The Lascannon list is a close second..

Darrian, did you play against godzilla bugs? I would think you'd have a hard time dropping them and being able to stay away from the Flyrant. Plus, 1000 pts brings in super dakka fexes and more gaunts!

No, I played against IG, Chaos and Eldar.
At 1000 points the Godzilla NIdz would not be a problem. The mobility of the Eldar on a 6x4 board with only 11 models means that once the Flyrant is dead the Nidz will never catch the Eldar. 1500 points would be a different story though.

That's a lot of special weapon spewage from 15 models and 2 tanks. At 750, that list would fill out to:
Junior Officer - 40
Staff w/ 4 Meltaguns - 40
SWS w/ Demo Charge, Meltagun - 65

cheese is something like this
Dark Eldar 1999pts
HQ

-9 Incubi Retinue
-Raider
w/ Scaling Nets
-Dracon
w/ Agoniser, Splinter Pistol

-Raider
w/ Scaling Nets
Elites
-7 Wyches
w/ Succubus, Agoniser, Wych Weapons
-Radier
-7 Wyches
w/ Succubus, Agoniser, Wych Weapons
-Radier
Troops
-10 Dark Eldar Warriors
w/ 2 Dark Lances
-10 Dark Eldar Warriors
w/ 2 Dark Lances
-10 Dark Eldar Warriors
w/ 2 Dark Lances
-10 Dark Eldar Warriors
w/ 2 Dark Lances
-10 Dark Eldar Warriors
w/ 2 Dark Lances
-10 Dark Eldar Warriors
w/ 2 Dark Lances
Fast Attack
Heavy Support
-Ravager
-Ravager
-Ravager
that is a total of 25 dark lances, 101 models. at range you can cut through pretty much anything, and at close quarters you have two of the best anti anything units in the whole game. obviously you can tweak the list to put more or less wyches in for something else, but this is the general jist

Really dont see how taking incubi in a DE list is a good idea anyway you look at it... I mean you take the DE strength which is mobility and you flush it down the drain for selling out to become a lowly space marine? If you play a gunline and they play at the back of the board and you play at exactly 12" out throwing caution to the wind and not caring about cover you still cant reach an enemy with your incubi until turn three... You would be better of with wyches or in MHO anything but incubi.
Also not dissing the warrior squads, because god knows theyre damn near the best basic trooper in the game, but 6 of them is overkill unless somehow youy plan on running a firebase DE. Essentially you pay 600 points for 12 shots now assuming they all shoot at a tough 4 unit that comes out to:
12 shots x 2/3= 8 hits
8 x 5/6= 6.6666 wounds
Or about 100 points per wound.
Now assuming that they are shooting at a LR Battle Tank to get a destroyed.
12 shots x 2/3= 8 hits
8 x 1/6= 1.333 glances or .222 destroyed
8x 1/3= 2.66666 or 1.333 destroyed
total= 1.5 destroyed. Assuming No hull down or smoke launchers...
So congrats for 600 points you destroy 1.5 tanks a turn(145x1.5 = 217 points) or can kill 6.5 troops a turn. Now granted i'm not saying its not nasty, just saying 6 squads is excessive if you want to field an assault army, 3 squads will do fine at getting the job done.
Now if you keep your dracon and Archon rigged exactly how they are, drop the two incubi units, drop three DL squads, and get rid of the scaling nets you have 780 points to use towards what DE strength is, speed.

Accuracy by Volume did you read? the incubi have a raider as transport. believe me i ahve played DE for long enough t know that incubi are the nastiest assault troop against the major armies (chaos marines, marines, necrons, non aspect eldar, and orks). also the raider changes the whole slow problem. also this game is not played by strictly averages, if it were it wouldn't be no fun. and you don't have to destroy the vehicle, once you've stunned it, or destroyed a weapon you've done enough to it to leave it alone for the rest of the turn. think about it, why shoot at a vehicle that can no longer shoot back and/or move. it's a waste of time. al you have to do is keep the pressure up, and then pick the opponent apart one piece at a time

Yes actually I did read the "transport" annotation thus my comment on scaling nets, unless I was thinking you clad you archon craftily with nets to make it easier for your retinue to get piggy back rides. The math I did to come to a third turn assault included your raiders.
believe me i ahve played DE for long enough t know that incubi are the nastiest assault troop against the major armies (chaos marines, marines, necrons, non aspect eldar, and orks)
1.) Just because you've played an army for a while doesn't mean that you are now the authority on DE (try using facts they have more weight than your assumption based on pure opinion)
2.) Wow you mean to tell me power weapons work well on armies that rely on not getting hit with power weapons... who would have thunk?
also this game is not played by strictly averages
Your right there at the same time with that analogy im suprised you ultimate cheese list of doom wasnt an all terminator list as you feel that they can never be killed. The bottom line is yes ultimatley there is CHANCE and LUCK but all in all um sorry to tell you but it actually is a game of averages.
and you don't have to destroy the vehicle
Im quite aware of basic tactics/common sense, however with that much firepower I was assuming the overkill was their for a reason even more so driving home the point of why in gods name would six squads be better than 3 at keeping tanks at bay? Plain and simple theyre not, just waisted points unless you want a firebase DE with a small countercharge.
Back to topic you know what my problem with the incubi are? You pay 25 points for a 1 wound model with a power weapon. Yup that power weapon is freaking awesome but unfortunately almost every single unit out their has some form of a power weapon to. And those incubi do not have an invulnerable of any kind. So yes they have a big punch, but when you lose 3 of them do to a powerfist dont come crying. Ill take my 2 wyches to every 1 of your incubi every day hands down.
