Screening doesn't work on MC.

If you kill the screening squad, what good is screening?

It's still deep strike. Very small footprint. Good luck hiding.

Stelek, you were an advocate of being able to use Fleet after DS - when you played your games against Daemons did they get to Fleet? How many games have you played against them so far? Also, did you face off against someone at your local store with the codex, or did you just gather up all of the available info?

Can't answer the first question. At various times it's been fleet (and yes), fleet (and no), run (and yes), and run (and no).

About 8 with 3 different armies. Got bored pretty quick.

I have a group of people I playtest stuff with, none are from my FLGS.

Can't answer the last question. Should be able to see why...

Oh and I don't necessarily always play for tournaments, I've had quite a few 'fun' armies (and 'fluff' armies) go in and do better than expected.

i.e. I'd consider them 'subpar' but my generalship is second to none. So far anyway. Hopefully my rabble rousing after a decade of silence will get me decent competition at the LVGT. Guess we'll see.

Just out of curiosity, Stelek, how many games do you play a week? Not just 40k, I've following your posts and you seem to not be bothered by RL, unless it's the fire department or drugees.

The wife seems to be a minor hic-up.

I usually do a bit of gaming on wed, fri nights and all day saturday. I host on request on sundays.

So I'd say...board game x1, DND x1, 40k x1, fantasy x1 or fow x1, and...a few of my core friends are going to give AT-43 a try over the next couple months, see how it goes.

I see. Fleet/Run didn't do much to help them in the long run then?

Can't answer the last question. Should be able to see why...

Ah, well I was just curious if you had the book on hand while playing. I mean, I know you're not supposed to pirate rules, but with all of the "it costs like a space marine!" talk going on it's rather simple to cobble together one army list using examples and a glance at the codex with a bit 'o memory.

Fleet/run saves you from blast templates.

You still eat most ordnance templates.

You still die to basic weapon en masse.

Yes, I had the book on hand. The one I was given anyway. It's thin, printed out, in a binder, has no real fluff or pics, and is one of several revisions.

Still sucks nuts.

Stelek you say that you have played against C: D several times and now you know how to beat them. How is this possible when the codex is not even out?

So you have a rough draph of the book but not the real thing. yeah thats a good one

Then you play a one trick pony army against another one trick pony army,,LMAO.

I see in all your post in this tread has alot of holes in it, the best one was that C: D has no shooty,,LMAO. You missed about the info on the Tzeencth list.

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

I am very tempted to take a Demon army to the LVGT.

I like a lot of what I am seeing.

Gee, if you can't figure out how I'm playing the demon army book....clue in.

If you really believe you can take on a mech army with demons, well, I suggest you buy an army and go get your ass handed to you.

If you think 4 or 5 anti-tank shots plus flamers makes for a shooty army, you're in the same misguided boat as those players who made flamer armies years ago.

Real shooty armies will shoot you off the board, and oddly enough as you put more and more points into shooty you get less and less assault capabilities so you can't take marines.

Yeah, my 'balanced' armies are one trick ponies. That's funny.

Well, done feeding ze troll.

It does not matter how you play your demons, it matters how I play mine. You have no imagination. You are the guy who takes tri-falcon Elder and Iron Warriors to GTs. That is why you can’t understand how Centurian99 won the Adepticon Gladiator with his Nids?

First off, I already own the army, so I do not have to buy it. Second, I guess I will have to use stratigy and tactics to win. What are skimmers rear armor? Doesn’t khone have a whip attack that can get through armor?

A lot of armies only have 4 or 5 anti-tank shots.

What is funny is this coming from a guy who thinks that this:

Is enough for anti-tank. 15 shots at strenth 8 with BS 2 and a range of 24”. Oh, sweet irony!

Real shooty armies will shoot you off the board, and oddly enough as you put more and more points into shooty you get less and less assault capabilities so you can't take marines.

What us funny is you have not even seen my armies build, yet you can make sweeping generalizations. One day I will teach you how to use terrain and your opponent’s deployment against them, but it will not be this day.

Yeah, my 'balanced' armies are one trick ponies. That's funny.

I have no idea of what demon army you played based on some list that is not the new demon codex, but I will tell you that you are so opinionated about armies and units that you are blind to the ones that you dismiss as bad. Others can see the value and their uses that you can’t.

Stelek, your name came up at Adepticon and I heard a great description of you. Unfortunately the swear filter prohibits me from repeating it.

I have lots of imagination.

Never took iron warriors to any GT. Never took tri-falcon either.

Gee, a nidzilla list with a trygon won? Say it ain't so!

blackmoor wrote:First off, I already own the army, so I do not have to buy it. Second, I guess I will have to use stratigy and tactics to win. What are skimmers rear armor? Doesn’t khone have a whip attack that can get through armor?

Yay! You own an army already. Let me see your soulgrinders please. I'll have fries with that.

So you deep strike off the board to get rear shots. Nice tactic. Got any other game winners?

Why gee, Khorne does. What's it's range? How does one properly defend against a deep striking army?

You fail at both strategy and tactics. You also fail at English.

blackmoor wrote:A lot of armies only have 4 or 5 anti-tank shots.

Showing your true colors again.

If you have 4 anti-tank shots, and they're split between two groups (one on board, one off) how many shots do you have?

Let's all count. Oooooonnnne. Twwwwooooo.

Two.

UBER! You'll be knocking out vehicles left and right with that kind of firepower.

"Hope" is not a strategy, so let's not "hope" more of your anti-tank arrives in turn 2.

As usual, your determined pissy attacks on me, you quote out of context.

I am pretty sure I said this:

"Sadly enough, you really do need 15 rokkits just to knock out a couple tanks."

No wonder everyone tells me to just put you on my ignore list and be done with you.

blackmoor wrote:What us funny is you have not even seen my armies build, yet you can make sweeping generalizations. One day I will teach you how to use terrain and your opponent’s deployment against them, but it will not be this day.

Of course I can make sweeping generalizations. The army is very limited. But then, you haven't been playtesting it have you? Else you'd know what I'm saying is accurate.

Sadly, no matter how many games we play and you lose in, you'll never teach me anything.

I've already learned how to put up with jerks in my miniature gaming.

Yep, blind indeed. That's why I'm here, trying to see the value of your input.

It seems like a bunch of trolling so far.

blackmoor wrote:Stelek, your name came up at Adepticon and I heard a great description of you. Unfortunately the swear filter prohibits me from repeating it.

What, did you forget your brass? You can say anything you like. I'm sure yak won't ban you or anything, you're his teammate after all. I hear you didn't do so well. Maybe instead of trying to teach ME about strategy, tactics, deployment, and terrain--you should teach yourself, your teammates, and/or your opponents.

Me? I'm just a bully lost out in Utah, remember?

I look forward to my break.

Come on Stelek, you are forgetting yourself here...

The best way to get your point across has always been to be calm, rational and devoid of emotion.
