I talked in person to the GW rep for my flgs and this appears to be incorrect. According to him the vegas GT will be using 4th editon.

I was able to build a nicely converted IG skimmer from the BFM set terrain pieces. I should post a How To over in the modeling section for those interested.

Read his title under his name. If he says that LV GT will be using 5th edition, then it will be using 5th edition.

This is the line up for editions:
June 14 - Games Day Baltimore - 40K 4th Edition
July 26 - Games Day Chicago - 40K 4th Edition
August 23 - Games Day LA - 40K 5th Edition
September 5-7 - Las Vegas Grand Tournament - 40K 5th Edition
October 3-4 - Chicago Grand Tournament - 40K 5th Edition

You'll have to forgive me for being incredulous but I will believe that 5th edition is used when I see it on the OFFICIAL GT section of the OFFICIAL U.S. GW website. Until then I will have to assume that the person who I actually know is a GW rep is correct.

If you are in the USA, don't read page 13 of White Dwarf 341, you will be disappointed. I am sure Dave is disappointed you don't believe in him. Sadly, they also mention B&C but skip over DD and Warseer.

When you said this, I thought looking at page 13 of the newest WD would prove me wrong. The only thing there that pertains to this thread is a passing reference to a GT blog, yet no website was given. I'm not really sure what this was supposed to prove.

Hi Dakkaladd

It is good to see that the internet rumor mill has left you with such an outlook. I also find myself automatically disbelieving most of what I read on the internet's hallowed page views. As I mentioned on our blog site (gwuscommunity.com), we'll be updating the GT pages on our "official" web site just as soon as we can. With the new site chewing up a bunch of time and our small but active team wrangling some of the more pressing issues, it may take a little time.

We posted this earlier on our blog site to help out those who were asking at the time. Hopefully the news later this week on our site will be helpful for you.

Funny, it is listed at the end of the paragraph in the copy GW sent me. His name/info is also listed in the GT packet on the "OFFICIAL GT section of the OFFICIAL U.S. GW website" on page 1 (which I should have re-looked at myself before I responded the first time).

I'm curious to know if the decision to use 5th in Vegas is widespread knowlege or not, since I was told by our GW rep that Vegas would be using 4th. You'll have to forgive the obvious confusion this causes, and the fact that the GT page has not been updated for quite some time. It still says ticket prices are being finalized.

I like that people are so passionate about our toys.

Hi Dakkaladd

I'm not sure why your GW rep is unaware of the situation. I'm going to assume that he is one of our Trade Account Managers and as such is not primarily responsible for selling tickets for GTs or answering questions regarding the running of such events. The Direct Services and Customer Services team are responsible for these things and they are aware. The new site does not have the prices or hotel information as these new pages were built before the prices and hotel information were finalized and these pages are being updated by our team.

I can understand the confusion and I apologize that it has occurred. You'd think something like this would be pretty simple, but apparently not.

Bear with us and we'll have the confusion sorted soon.
