This list will do pretty well in Dawn of war kinds of games... thats lots of firepower on the table to start

I'd say the list is...average.

You seem to know what you're talking about in the Tactics and Army Lists Forums, so I think the tactician in you will make good this army's build and boost it from mediocrity.

5th will also do a good job at rounding out armies. With so many one-trick ponies out there getting the nerfstick (esp. with 9 permutations of the missions), having even a somewhat lackadaisical all-rounder like this one will give you an edge where other one-dimensional armies will be out of their element.

I think this list has too many points tied up in characters.

Grey Knight termies are ok on their own, they don't need an uber character with them.

I would also downgrade some of the Inquisitorial teams and adding some seraphim or guard in lieu of what you are taking.

Most of those characters start at 20 points base, I know of some base troops that are more pricey.

I have uber GK characters? The squad upgrade [required] is identical in stats and points cost to the GK Hero I've chosen. Did you know that?

After looking over your list you have two main group.

Fire base team A backed up with four lascannon.

Over all the list is Aplus plus and really nice. I would have to say that these two items list up top would be my main concern.

That list is ridiculous, but it looks really fun. Look at it this way: when you're done, you'll have this fun/silly DH army to show off. And that's winning in its own right!

what would you do vsing a shooty army?

I don't have the best shooting, and my army isn't very mobile, but that's the way this army is.

Alot of the old school shooting armies have been nerfed, or don't get brought to tournaments much.

Some lists that combine shooting + mech will be more difficult to deal with but not impossible....I'll run across the battlefield if I have to.

How is Hammer of the Witches being so effective for you? Usually psykers like Zoanthropes, Justicars, DPs, and so on have high enough leaderships that even with two Hammers going off a turn it doesn't seem likely that they'll be doing that much damage.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding how it works - you use Hammer, D6 nearest enemy psykers take leadership checks and if they fail get hit by Perils. It doesn't seem like it should be as effective as your batreps have made it to be.

Ah I keep forgetting I've been testing using the -3 to LD psychic power.

Ah, that makes some sense then. The combination of those two powers would be quite deadly to psykers. But the Hammer in and of itself doesn't seem so bad.

Well it kills most psykers that fail the test, and the psykers I'm really aiming for are support psykers like Warlocks who are only LD8.

Besides, that's why you bring 2 Hammers. More psykers you have, worse it is.
