Which is more likely?
The hive mind is sending fleets all across the universe and it's only a matter of time until we are outnumbered a trillion to one!
The hive has a limited amount of biomass and this explains why we do not have a huge foothold in our galaxy.
A much bigger fleet is headed our way and we are all doomed!
This guy is completely wrong! Let me tell you how it is...

IMO i think the whole "consuming GALAXIES" fluff is a bit over done. seriously if a group like tyranids took over more then one galaxy they would EASILY have enough resources to just bulldoze threw this one. even IF every single army in the modern 40k list would take every single man, woman, ork, tau, kroot, necron, chaos marine, space marine, eldar, darkeldar and everything in between they wouldnt last a year against a nid horde the size of that.

i think that they have either a single hive brain, or possibly multiple hive minds to control sectors. in the end tho, lets face it, the Orks are gunna rule again. and when that happens, they WILL bring back gorka morka

Old Ones will return before the Orks take over.

Or, SPACE LIZARDS!

I really wanna make a Space Lizardman army. Give it Fluff saying that they have been living in an unknown system in the Galaxy fighting off the Nids from assimilating them. Possibly even being the early forms of Nids that did not assimilate into the Hive Mind.

But alas, my idea dies with my laziness.....

Perhaps not a remote supreme hive mind, hiding out somewhere in a remote galaxy. Nor actually separate Hive Minds for each independant and autonomus hive fleet. But a collective conciousness formed from each Hive Fleet/Mind.

what I heard is that the tyranids are basically nomads. if they cant devour one place, they just move on, but if they can, they will.

First up I'll admit I hate the Nids, - buts that's probably cos I'm so scared of them.

They come from another galaxy - there is only one large galaxy remotely near us (Andromeda) and that is about a million light years away, (approxiamately ten times the diameter of our galaxy). All the others are so far away that even in 40K universe, I'd say they were too far away. Maybe the nids come from one of the smaller clusters in our local group of galaxies, but I'll go with "the andromeda strain" for now. If they have dominance over that galaxy their reserves are enormous.

They need biomass to survive. Sure, they suck the life out of a planet like I drink chocolate milk, but does that leave their supplies of Biomass depleted? I fear not. For such a highly evolved life form, some of them must have 'figured out' how to use sunlight/starlight to grow plants, or something similar generating more biomass. Therefore I say there reserves are as limitless as the stars in their galaxy.

I have a terrible feeling that WH50K will just be nids versus necrons!

ok this is irritating guys the simple answer to why the tyranids aren't consuming supposed necron worlds is simple, they are tomb worlds! there is no Biomass for them to consume.... so there is no poiint them going there.

actually in some the background on the sects of the inquistion, there is one which wants to put every man, woman and child under military arms and its stated that if they were ever to achieve this the imperium pretty much woins against everythign except chaos and possibly necrons.

the same goes for the Orks although where there pshyic presence is enough sustain the chaos gods is a differnet matter and if its not enough to sustian all the chaos gods the chaos gods cannot continue to exist.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.
