I've had it with spray primers.

Inconsistent results, toxic fumes, mess, and pollution.

I've switched to acrylic gesso and although it's slower I think the results are better. I'll stick to spray for vehicles but I don't paint too many of those.

I prime on the roof of the building, and sometimes in front of the building with a box. When I feel lazy I get them primed at the local GW store.

Your local GW store primes models for you?

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

You know, I've tried using gesso as primer...but I just haven't been too huge a fan of it over spray primers (despite the advantages of it). Maybe I'll try it out again.
