The artwork and fluff we have associated with the Primarchs usually depicts ornate, intricately detailed patterns on massive plates of armor, with loads of hydraulics, wiring, and exceedingly large weapons.

I think that Hash has given us his own interpretation of the character(s), while portraying a more accurate sense of scale.

This piece isn't yet finished, and if his Horus is any indication, I'm sure we are in for a treat.

Mortarion is the primarch of the Death Guard. So if it was post heresy he would be Nurglised and demonic in appearance.

pre heresy - post heresy should be completed within 4-6 weeks

taking all the criticism under account - will add more details

also a different set of arms + a second , helmeted head

To bad you choose to ignore the balance and porportions issues evident since the begining of the mini... the wide chest the balance like he is falling down and now ork butt cannot be saved by covering mini with details. ( and some really strange details like back of legs etc)
Positive effort but really a missed chance for something really special.

Not enough ornamentation I think. One would think a primarch would have it dripping off of him.

Some Primarchs, maybe.

Actually, I think GW made an Epic Scale mini of Mortarion, and it actually wasn't very Nurgley at all.

Kind of more Grim Reapery, if you know what I mean.

Given that old Mortarion was more or less 'forced' to sign up with Nurgle, I think a less-Nurgley approach is the right way to go.

Mind you that I never told you I didnt like it, in fact i told you the oposite...

I liked it and I still think you can do even better... as for me sculpting a version I dont see any reason why I should do that ATM.

the shoulder pads and the organ on his back are what get me. when I think of a space marine, I think of the distinctive shoulderpads and backpack.

to really critisize your model, theres not enough distinction between the armour on his chest and his legs. use the iron patter armour, plus that gives you more room to sculpt primatch iconography.

he reminds me of the big o tire guy.

it is a great sculpt but you have more in you.
