I played a lot of blood bowl to begin with, and got into it with a group of friends. I knew of the main games in a way but never played them because we just didn't. After a while I moved to where there was a games store with warhammer, and no one played blood bowl, so I switched.

Started playing Magic and D&D at my local Veteran's Legion on sundays with people of all ages (including a few 60 year old vets) on sundays. And after a few weeks playing there someone else was playing epic 40k and I thought it looked cool, I was 13. A few months later the first GW store in London opened in one of the malls and I wandered in and played a game of regular 40k. Liked it and so I bought two of the third edition boxed sets and split it with my friend. I took the Marines and he took the DE. Ever since then I've been playing it regularly for 12 years at various local stores or in University as I moved around and began traveling to tournaments within 4 hours of where I was living at any given time. Just last year I finally bought a fantasy army ( Iactually bought 2 complete armies in one shot dwarves and lizards but thats another story ) and I've been playing that ever since.

Note: D+ can take over 12 hours of driving in Canada. It's no small task here.

Well i remeber when i was really young my cousin gave me some epic models to play with that i really loved, infact i loved them so much i bugged my parents to get me more... they rang that same cousin and he suggested heroquest so that was my first dip into gamesworkshop.

A few years later i got hold of cheap from a car boot sale space hulk and the deathwing expansion and for the first time i guess i was exposed to the fluff of 40k and i loved it, next came 40k and never really looked back since.

Though i dread probably like most people on here to think back about the money i have spent on these little plastic and metal guys
