I miss the extremely colourful and varied mishaps that could occur with your heavy weapons (or even just the descriptions). There was a time where your Terminator's Cyclone could misfire and he'd spin around shooting off all his missiles indiscriminately.

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity...... |

There are many things I miss from earlier versions of the game. Most have been mentioned already.
My Harlequin army.
That was death incarnate.
Death Jester on a War Walker with shuricannon and lascannon. If the walker was destroyed, he'd get down, dismount the shuricannon and continue on foot, with his carapace armour save.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I fondly remember playing a Jet Bike harli army with my IG... I couldn't hit anything until they got close to my lines and my two hell hounds rolled 10's on the artillery dice and torched the only kills... I think I either killed or removed from play about 2/3's of their jet bikes but by that time, I was already dead... that was just a broken army list... I had -4 and -5 to hit with my guard. I needed a 6 and then a 5 or 6 to hit after that. Just ugly.
