i sort of see what you mean, except in stead of 'not using light colours' i would say don't use so many so different colours, but do use different hues. eg. forget the blue and yellow.

they need a dark green wash.

well, those pics are what i'm basing my tanks on. they will be made of scrap metal and other bits and bobs. i'm drawing some pics at the mo but i'll put them up eventually.
