To the OP: There's a lot of people trying to give you advice. Try some of it out and see what's actually effective (or not).

Power weapons vs Orks: for 15 points, you turn 5 dead orks into 6 dead orks. In other words, your champion with a power weapon will kill ONE SINGLE ORK MORE over the course of the game than champ/chainsword. Or you could just take another guy for a similar points cost who will kill 1-3 orks in shooting and 1-3 orks in close combat. Think about it.

Havocs vs Oblits: The only havoc setups that will do anything at all is 4x flamer in a rhino or 4x ML with Lash. Any other setup is a complete waste. Plasma/melta versus Orks is epic Failure. Yes, that's a capital F. Flamer Havocs will actually do decently well versus Horde, but lack versatility. ML have slightly more versatility, but do less well versus Horde and aren't really able to stop a Battlewagon. Obliterators will do well versus Horde, and also have the ability to knock out vehicles and kill any Meganobz that happen to show up. They're fairly tough against a Loota squad too due to 2+ saves and 2 wounds. Lootas will definitely kill them, but in a low points game it should take an inordinate amount of fire to do so.

Rhinos: Light armor is great against Orks because it takes stupid amounts of effort to kill them and they can serve as mobile assault platforms. Havok launchers are very useful as well. But do not (!) put your heavy squads in them, as some are suggesting. If your heavies are in rhinos, they aren't shooting or able to shoot and you may as well just erase those models from your list because they're absolutely worthless. 10x Khorne Berzerkers in a Rhino, flank the mob, and do not disembark your guys. Let them sit. Now your opponent has a choice: he can charge the rhinos that have the capability of gutting his Boyz in melee if he ignores them, or he can take out the Oblits / lash prince that are shooting the crap out of his guys.

Since you all posted so many tips for me here is how it has gone so far

Since the last time I posted, I managed to game a little. One of the games I played was versus the very beautifully painted and converted Orks of the store manager. He had a Warboss with two Trukk squads, 3 Warbikers and a Deffkopta. My army consisted of:

HQ 125
Sorceror Mark of Slaneesh, Lash of Submission

Troops 275
6 Chaos Space Marines 1x flamer 95
Rhino 35
6 Noise Marines Marines 5x Sonic Blasters 145

Heavy Support 100
Predator Autocannon Heavy Bolters

The game ended in a draw because atleast ten people were watching the game and they were giving my opponent tips all the time. People set up the terrain for him so my Predator couldn't have line of sight and because of the ingame "advisors" my opponents deployment and movement was very good. I also mistakenly put my units way to close (trucks move 24" wtf!) but my rhino driver Jamaal proved himself a true warrior of Allah by blowing up half a Trukk Boyz squad in close combat. However I discovered that I play too cautiously. I think this is becouse of "newguy-lowconfidance"-syndrome and not knowing really what all units do on the tabletop.

What I learnt was this:
First: The lash sorceror is a life saver. I can't recall how many times I manouvered myself in crappy positions and he went "Hey its ok man, I'll help you out". Surprisingly dangerous in close combat too.
Second: Recruiting rhino crew from al-queda. In most of the games I played my opponents could not resist to charge the rhino and then roll for 5-7 penetrating hits...
Third: Noise Marines proved to be pretty vicious. I'm considering of including them in my all-comers lists. If only they could derp strike.
Fourth: Having an overall plan but also be able to make the best of each turn. Sometimes reserves don't arrive, the opponent does something very smart or stupid, poorly rolled dice and so on. I feel have to practice a lot on this part.

Well, sounds like a good learning experience. Glad you found Lash useful, and if you thought Noise Marines were fun, next time give Plague Marines a whirl. If you can get the charge off on Orks using Plague Marines, your opponent will have a bad time.

I find with so many cover saves orks are surviving a lot of stuff. I use almost exclusively flamers.
