When test sculpts are that nice, why shouldn't they get released. Plastic pathfinders would be a nice option, but unless they become as readily selectable unit (troop choice) I don't see how they'd do it..

Why shouldn't they get released? GW already has pathfinders, and unless GW thinks that a lot more pathfinders will be sold if they release a plastic kit, there isn't much reason to invest in new pathfinder molds.

I'd buy them.

I like being able to pose them any way I want. Plastic make that so much easier.

Who knows?

Eventually the Tau codex will be released for 5e. They may make Pathfinders more desireable and be able to sell a lot more models. By then, the current metal moulds will be seven to nine years old.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

no idea sadly.
I have no intention currently of pulling my dirty Tau out of retirement, but that Farsight-esque commander would probably make me do it.

WOW, what a shame. They put these on display at this years GDUK. I was soo stoked until I found this thread. Why do they continue to display them if they won't release it. It's like I am trying to grab it while my bigger brother is holding me back with one hand on my forehead laughing at me. It is soo obvious they are much better minis than current models. sigh

This isn't news. I posted these pics a year ago and got shouted down for posting old news.

This may still be "news" if the "threadromancer" was correct that these were on display for GDUK 2009.

jspyd3rx,

Please check the dates on the posts you are replying to. If they are of topical information then responding to something that is more than several weeks old is called 'thread necromancy', is confusing to others and is not allowed.

Locking thread now. . .

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!
