Those are some STUNNING vehicals. The rust/weathering effects are top-notch. I also like the red/white panelling. It's pretty amazing. Please, keep up the good work.

Thanks guys for the comments,

Prometheum5 You correct about the zimm texture but i couldn't bring myself to cover the rest of the tanks fine detail, and fluff wise this thing preheresy so lets just say its fallen off over the centuries and it was to difficult obtain more during its many deployments.

As for the gun, at moment I'm currently trying to learn to do a leather cover but until i get it down pat i did not dare to attempt it on one of my four centre piece models. Otherwise yes its the main flaw that i am ashamed about is the base of the gun :S .

Foxy_Grandpa The dozer blade was a last addition for a local story torni, basically, yes it has no effect on the regular rules (probably why its not an available option ) It instead gave a number of special abilities witch i dug out for you, hmmmm, lets seee, ahhuh i knew i still had them lol,

2008 Retaking of Scantus 3 from the orkish horde
A super heavy 'TANK'(*cough* there was also a cobra *cough*) may sport a dozer blade to gain the following abilities

1) May push through Ork 'Strongist Defence Wall' (armour 14 would you believe) she went through like it was paper)
2) May ram other vehicles and fortified structures of the same armour value or less as the front armour value of your tank with no back damage (man did i use that lol that poor stompa didn't know what hit it sigh)
3) The 'Its Boncin Off' rule always counts as hull down from the front as the weapon fire bounces off the dozerblade

And of cause once in the ork city the troops behind it were concealed from forward fire

The Dreadnote.__ A valid point and one that even i said once i had it on the table, but as the one of my opponents said,
1 its a baneblade right?
well yes
So it has more room for a slighty more pwerful version yes,
I supose so, point being,
so it has indirect fire.
and after everyone picked themselves off the floor we agreed

Happy?

Did i mention i scratch built it?
plus as previously pointed out it is not a valid option so can be ignored for or other LOS purposes

Oh and did i metion i did run it as a vanquisher?

It was a long barreled mega vanquisher cannon (titan killer)

108 cm range strength 9 ap 2 apoc bast or 2d6+ 9 Armour penetrating round both with d3 structure points remove off war machines on each hit (yes that includes shields, up to three shields in one go).

Very interesting. I like the baneblade. Is the searchlight supposed to be lit up? I can't really see it that clearly, but it looks quite turned off.

OK, so i'm Back and its time to pick up where we left of.

As the troops of the 123rd embark to join the forge world fleet above The highest Tech Maggi are in a meeting deep in the bowls of the great space forge ship Foundraous. There number is joined by another being, his image on the communication array all but hidden. All that's visible are his two eyes that burn as bright as looking into a blast furnace. The Tech Maggi who are present stand on the pinnacles of an ancient symbol inlayed into the floor chanting long forgotten rights known only to the select few present. The final passage is resited and the room falls quit as the head Magos Approachs the array, pulls back his hood and drops to one knee while he stared at the floor.

The Magos's voice resonates through a box on his chest, but only just peaces the silence in the great hall,''Oh great lord of knowledge we have come before you as humble servants to seek your guidance.

The eyes flare and a voice that shakes the very ships structure rumbles, " I am here Calmaus"

''We have arrived in the Vraks system as you requested and have started to take the 123rd Cadian expeditionary force as you so guided, but............'' Calmaus falters as he keeps looking at the floor" I do not see the need for such a force to be taken upon our fleet, surely they but a burden upon our resour.....''

''Silence'' bellowed the image quaking the ship to such a degree that dust wafted down from the vaulted ceilings "Do not question the word of your god, these burdens as you call them have proven themselves worthy adversaries of chaos. As i have explained to you before, my form cannot enter the warp, nor can we muster a large enough force to stop the flow coming from the gaping wound in time and space. Although the safe guards i placed on the planet you now call cadia have been overrun, the bloodshed on that world has re-energised them and for now they have not attracted to much attention, but soon they will, you understand what happens if the pillars fall Calmaus?''

''Yes my lord'' crackled Calmaus'' The eye of terror will expand to untold size''

''Precisely, These men have the missing element of some of my other followers, a spirit, a drive that will help them push back the chaos. How are the modifications going to the armoury''hissed the great image as if a great warmachine release a boiler of steam.

Calmaus shuffled slightly'' Slowly my lord, the knowledge and technology you have granted us is far beyond anything we have manufacture before, we currently still working on the modifications to the starglaive."

"Excuses, if i was not bound to this pathetic red rock of a planet i would have done this myself'' raged the image displaying a red glintin he background, more dust floated down from the ceiling covering the symbol in a mist as the coven cringed." I want this your top priority!" The image simmered and calmed it's self "I've have your next coordinates, you are to go to them and rendezvous with a imperial ship in distress, its has a very special cargo on board''

''Now Leave and don't return until you have obtained the cargo, and its guardians '' Rumbled the imaged as it faded.

Calmaus Sighed in relief, the sound picked up by his many bionics as he stood and turned to his congregation. "We have much work and little time, lets get this riffraff stowed away, and set a course for the ommasaih's new desire".

Something to Vanquish my foes

Currently, there are some worries about the future rules as on the new imperial guard reference sheet it is a single ammunition heavy weapon, i.e. can't fire the normal battle cannon. This drops the versatility, that said it may still fire both its just listed separately.

First is the slightly repainted old forge world

second is the new forge world model with the mars pattern hull and a brass tube barrel.

Third is a conversion using a cut down baneblade turret

Sweet God-Emperor's golden nose hairs! Sir, you are a liar... this humility you display is a farce... You started to display your skills on your Forge World models first! These are very beautiful. Truly I agree with many on the thread that you should be proud. You do the Emperor's troops justice. Praise be to thee, O' servant of the Omnissah.

@ burb 1996
The gun shield is a world war one British field artillery 1/48 scale which i have another 7 on order though its hard to get them in at the moment for some reason, and the wheels were from a set of T34 wheels from a model upgrade kit i pulled out of a local hobby shops bargain bin for $5 Aus

All praise most go to the machine god for showing me the way the one true god

Well I'm back off for more testing tomorrow so we shall have to wait for the next installment and hope i'm able to do it soon..... remember, every mistake while painting may hide new techniques.

Hi guys,
Well a lot has happened since my last post, i'm sorry once again for the lack of posts, not a lot time with all the appointments, testing and drugs(medical, not recreational) (The Emperor of man kind says no to drugs) etc.

where were we,

Are yes, while the 123rd travels through the void of space the techpriests unveil one of their oldest and most revered machines of war, a veteran of many crusades against, orks, chaos, tyrinids and three uprisings lost for 120years then recovered and pressed almost instantly back into service. the 'Thor Cannon' brings the emperor's might against his enemies. Its pretty much finished it just needs a couple extra bits of detailing

Rules wise i run him as a stormsword unless someone is willing to allow the VDR rules of the Thor cannon 'attached'

to support it, and to make my army ready for day one of the guard codex release next weeks is the medusa siege cannon and basilisk

I hope you enjoy

Great looking tanks. I must concurr with the masses, great vision for your tanks and great execution. I especially love the king tiger w/ zimmerit turret you put on the baneblade. Fits in seamlessly. Only thing that bugs me are the two shells stuck to the outside of the turret.

One question for you: Why the HUGE frikken dozer blades?

Just how many tanks are the 123rd gonna pick up on the way and is this a precusor for a chaos army hmm?? cause when they get to Cadia their going to need a adversary to duke it out with!

Fantastic looking army. It is a rare treat to view such well painted and converted IG. Your liberal use of FW also is a treat to view.

Personally, I love the dozer blade that is taller than a Basilisk. Talk about providing cover!!!!

Great work. Looking forward to seeing more. Hope your health is improving.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Thanks guys for the great comments

@ Ghidorah, Thanks for the great comments and just to put your mind at ease, i have a dozer blade fetish (I'm getting help ), that and if you look at the first picture, I dunno it just didn't look quite finished, it needed something. I just can't wait to see it pushing it's way down city fight streets (gary will be back )

@ Da GeneruL, Why yes, I wondered if anyone would notice this, (fellow history buff no doubt) i kinda went over board with this model because i walked into my local hobby shop caught sight of the dragon 1/35 model of the Moser Karl 'Thor' and bought it, only after i walked home with it realizing that it cost me $85Aus. As for the shorter barrel, I made both up and there were two reasons why i ran with this one,

1) i thought it looked better compared to its big brother on the baneblade chassis, and
2) I'm thinking of building a large Titan and thought hmmmm one weapon down (with the longer barrel it should look good ).

@ BOSS_PIMPALOTZ, Thanks for your comments as well, Ya they are only half way there i still have 10 Leman Russ, 5 basilisks on the desk two Macharius almost finished and a Malcador (annihilator), and a mars pattern titan, oh and the troops, storm troops, valkuries, footmen, ratlings, sigh. As you said there is a big chaos army at the local that i'm building up for and the next post will have some....powerful allies......

@Sarigar, Thanks mate glad you appreciate the dozer, and yep It covers the vast majority of the front of the tank, what do you reckon always hull down

Thanks again,

Yeah its getting there i will hopefully be able to drive again soon yay, watch out lol

after my post i realised there was a second page.
when i saw ur thor cannon, i think i droped my jaw on the ground. when the forces of chaos see that monstor of a gun they will crap themselves and wonder why they ever walk away from the emperors light.
I love all of those tanks
and i thought this was some rang tag weak army, with the tanks you have i am mistaken
also do you use different rules with the lascannon with the epic sheild, cause i was thinking along the lines of maybe howitzer but that wouldn't be a lascannon.
nice work and fluff

Put that out front and you've got a great road for everything behind it.
