Thanks, Jon. I've been trying to get some pictures up for a little while. Last night I finished the Dragon Lords fleet (just gotta paint up the little pennants I put on them), so I'm running out of excuses!

Watch for them soon. Including the Wind Direction Indicator who's coolness I will be blaming Russ' first full blown victory over me on.

Far-stretching, endless Time
Brings forth all hidden things,
And buries that which once did shine.
The firm resolve falters, the sacred oath is shattered;
And let none say, "It cannot happen here".

Yak: I can't wait to try out the new Dakka features, and they'll be getting a mention in ep 21.

Meeples: I loved that episode. Also be sure to listen to their latest, which coveres some of the new models and token options.

Thanks again guys. Well, I finally got pix up of my Uncharted Seas stuff. Sorry, Jon, but I got it up at my little personal site (linked below) and ended up exhausted. Russ is going to try to get some of his stuff and my stuff onto the dakka article.

There are pictures of the full Dragon Lord fleet (they're the dark elves, basically), the Iron Dwarves, all the terrain (sea surface, islands, reefs, and, in the background, sand bars), and some of my accessories, including the vaunted Wind Direction Indicator that I'm going to blame Russ' first one on one victory against me on. (It was so pretty I forgot how to read it).

VERY basically, the water surface is textured suspended cieling light tiles, available at Home Depot et.al. for about $4 a 2x2 sheet. I paint some areas both lighter and darker using shades of my primary blue color blending it out to the basic color, and then, when that's dry, I roller the entire sheet with the primary blue. When you then flip the sheets they look like water of varying depths. The pictures make it much clearer than my words can, really.

Let me know what you think!

~Craig

Well, I downloaded the Minis & Meeples podcast episode where he talks about Uncharted Seas and though I fell asleep part way through (darn his monotonous voice) I picked up something that surprised me.

Apparently there are only four(!) scenarios in the game. Is this right?

Those pictures are very, very nice. In fact, in most cases I think if you had a professional looking backdrop your pics would be as good, if not better than the pics that Spartan games has up on their site!

The board looks even better than I had imagined, the close-ups of those islands are just fabulous. I think I understand what you mean by 'textured ceiling light tiles', you're talking about those tiles that tend to cover flourescent lights that are recessed into the ceilings of things like classrooms and some businesses (where the ceiling is basically just paneling), right?

If you ever are able to find the time I'd love to read a how-to article with pics on this process (I'd love to help you make it into a Dakka article, too!).

The only thing I don't think I care for are the shoals and sandbars. I understand the necessity to combine them on a single piece of clear plexiglass, but the clear plexiglass still stands out in a big way simply because the rest of the table is so visually amazing. I don't know how you could possibly get around this. . .maybe a few smaller sections of shoal / sandbars would look better as you'd have less reflective plexiglass on the table in one chunk?

Finally, I really hope you have some larger versions of those pics (even bigger than they are when you click on the 'full size') as I really, really want to view them in our gallery system. Not just because I want to have them on the site, but also because then I'd really be able to get a really close-up look at some of that stuff.

Anyway, thanks for posting those, I did enjoy them greatly and fantastic job overall on the table!

Those are amazing, Craig.

I especially like the little details like the temple on the main island. Very impressive.

Damn. Damn. Damn. I was NOT going to get this game. Damn you and your jedi mind tricks!

Just placed an order for the rules and the Dwarves with Spartan.

Damn. I have no willpower!

Cheers
