"I'd like to see a company doing lots of bitz, for an affordable price.
Vehicle accessories, crates and barrels, heads, weapons, scenery, bases. You know, stuff."

Italieri and Tamiya (and probably others) sell tons of Military Accessories (sandbags, crates, barrels) that I've purchased through the years as bits, decent prices too. 1:35 scale I think works well.

While we're dreaming...

Plastic Figure - Whole model $.75
Pewter Figure - Whole model $2
Bosses or Special Characters (Pewter) - $4
Small Vehicles - $10
Large Vehicles - $17.50
Super Vehicles (ala Baneblade, Stompa) - $25
Bits (character) - 2 Bits a Bit (That's $.25)
Bits (Vehicle) - $1

Why would you want that? It would be way better if they just gave it away for free.

It would be better if GW made pretty much what everybody is saying. Bits. Skulls, spikes, differently modeled SM heads, little obscure symbols, bits of rubble [A.K.A. broken imperial eagles, signboards, etc.]... So many ideas leap to mind, and it would only take a good GW modeler like 30 minutes to make some of that stuff.

You're right; I have 2 boxes of Tamiya battlefield accessories and a collection of scenery pieces. Point is, in the same evening I bought them, I also bought some talus, foamcore and plasticard from Barrule, some empire arms from Bits&Kits and some more scenery from Amazon.

Like I said; I have lots of bookmarked sites, favourite sellers and other ways to spend my moneym but it'd be nice to get them ALL in the same place.

Wow, I've never heard of Tamiya before. That's some nice stuff.

A cool deal would be if they (our hypothetical company) threw in a free skull or barrel or whatever for every ten dollars you spent on their stuff.

If you check the gallery for Pig Iron you'll see dozens of miniatures with their heads, few of their bodies. A new head changes the whole character of a model and keeps it 'legal' for GW purposes.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/core/gallery-search.jsp?dq=pig+iron

Westwind does WWII and some historicals, Pig Iron does near future.

I would say some space suit helmets with backpacks, peak caps, cyborg heads, mutant heads all would do well with the GW crowd.

Bionics are another area we could all use more of.

Just out of curiosity, what does constitute legal for GW purposes? How much of a miniature/army is allowed to be sourced from non GW manufacturers for them not to kick you out of the store and shake their fists at you?

depends how cool it is i guess. if its really good and they know lots of customer will purchase from others,
then GW will try to sue w/e threatens their product sale.

That would be excellent. Not just the Codex stuff, but all the flyers and superheavies too. Put the troops on strip bases like epic. Keep the same ranges, measurements and blast template sizes. This way, the weapon ranges wouldn't seem so absurd.

I would also like somebody to make Gnolls and Bugbears with guns. I know, call me crazy but I'm coming up with my own science/fantasy game, sort of like a Warmachine/40K hybrid, and I didn't feel like putting the Orcs in as an army all by themselves so I included as many other Subhuman races as I could. Also, cavemen with leather armour and blunderbusses.

Someone posted that they would want near-meltas and near-plasmas. This invites IP violation, I think, and really isn't needed.

With the rules for conversion carefully delineated as they are </sarcasm>, I would like to see analogs for some of these weapons. Don't make a weapon that looks close to a GW melta, for instance. Make a short-ranged man-packed AT weapon that looks nothing like it, but looks uber-cool. Then I can buy it en masse, and use that as my "meltaguns" throughout my force. That way, there will be no questions as to what it is after the first explanation, since they will all look alike.

That make sense?

Nah, go to 10mm... I'd then end up trying to port SM into the HGB! rules so I can finally have the Dreadnought vs. Mammoth fight I'd want to see.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

That's exactly what I would suggest.

LOL, well, yeah I guess so but I was referring/grumbling to the prices ever climbing especially regarding some models. I was dreaming of 1990-ish prices.

DOH! I mean... Oh, I didn't read that the first time.

Another thought. More CC weapons. GW makes good thunder hammers, power swords, chain swords, etc., but if you look at this,
you'll see what I mean. These are... Thunder Scythes, and any good modeling company could make something like that and other
variants fairly quick. Thunder Scythes, buzz-saw arms... You get the idea.

Weapons: one of the good things about GW;s weapons is consistancy. Sure there are differances, but Imperial melta weapons are all identifiable, and Imperial laser-based weapons are all identifiable, etc. If someone could make weapons that again looked NOTHING like GW IP for their own sake, but were analogous to GW weapons. Running the gamut from pistols to rifles to vehicle-mounted to superheavies.

Vehicle upgrades: Some of the GW vehicle upgrades look terrible. If someone could cut cool dozer blades, searchlights, aerial whips, etc.; I would buy.

CCW: You could go to town. But the capacity to have multiple sculpts of the same weapons type... would be great.

Lots of these things people are asking for are available already.

Hasslefree do separate guns and melee weapons. They aren't the only company.

Various plastic model companies do vehicle detailing kits such as tracks, baggage, add-on weapons, mine ploughs, dozer blades and so on.
